Enfamil Low Iron- update
Hi, I'm a new mommy, and been so busy I haven't had time to post, but I had a baby boy on 5/7/07. 7lbs 10 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. I'm really happy to be a mommy, and would be even happier if I can find the only formula that works for my son.
At the hospital they gave him Similac Advance, he did horrible with that, So my pediatrician suggested I try Nestle Good Start Soy. I tried that, it didn't make a difference, so I tried Enfamil Low Iron, he did great! However, Enfamil Low Iron has been discontinued as of this month, and I feel I bought every available can already, and there wasn't too many either, and I'm all out, so I switched him to Enfamil Lipil w/Iron, but the Iron is killing his tummy, he screams in pains from it, and I know its the Iron bc he was fine with the Low Iron, for those of you that had your children on Enfamil Low Iron, and now that it's discontinued what did you try next? TIA

Hi - Just wanted to welcome you over here!!!
Hope you find the right formula for your little guy - i wish i could help you - but Julia was on Similac Advance and then Alimentum for other reasons due to her milk allergy....

Re: Enfamil Low Iron
ask the ped for recommendations on low iron formulas. Maybe another brand makes it?

Re: Enfamil Low Iron
Congratulations!!! I was thinking about you if you had the baby yet....
I had the same issues with Luka when I stopped BF and the low iron did help but it really isn't recommened for infants. I would speak to your dr. plus he is still young and his body is adjusting. You could also try maybe Enfamil Gentlease. That has partially pre-digested enzyme's so it might work better for him.
