Enhanced STAR question
My parents own a legal two family home. My 85 year old grandmother lives in the apartment and has for the past 20 years. Someone was just telling me that someone they know was in the same exact situation and they qualified for enhanced STAR, and a full school tax rebate. My parents are on the deed and do not meet the qualifications, but my grandmother does. Does anyone know if this is true? I was at the website and I don't think it would work, but am curious... thanks in advance! :)

Re: Enhanced STAR question
i believe it's the OWNER that has to be over age 65, not a tenant (which in this case, your grandmother technically would be).

Yes, only the owner of the home can get the enhanced star

Re: Enhanced STAR question
Yeah, that's what I gathered... however someone said that they are in the exact situation and they get it... so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't reading something wrong
