We all know that I like to debate politics. But in this day and age, maybe it's better to leave out politics and religion considering people get into a tizzy. I mean, in 2017 you have to think alike and be sheep or people de friend or don't talk to you. Such ridiculous times we live in.
as usual!
Ok, to all the Trump supporters who disapprove of all the bashing and fear posts, I'd like to see you address this poster. Clearly you'll be able to point out to your friend here where she went wrong and have no problems doing so.
This poster did nothing evenCLOSE to what you posters have been doing. Not even a tiny bit. I take this as it's 2017 and you are not allowed to have an opinion on here unless it's the popular one.
I am not a sheep and if LIF doesn't approve of me, that's tough noogies And btw : no snowflake here I'm the whole damn storm
Hmmm yeah didn't think so. Knew you'd never actually put your money where your mouth is. You proved my point. It's ok for her to refer to ppl as sheep, you even agree with her. But when someone else posts something you don't approve of it needs to be stopped.
What I think you mean is you would like anti-Trump people to stop insulting, but you pro-Trump ppl may carry on with the bashing. Thanks for proving my point that most of the nonsense coming from the right is nothing but contradictions riddled with hypocrisy and a little mental instability mixed in!
But there were threads where trump supporters were called things like uneducated and racist. Just the other day I was told that republicans only care about themselves and fetuses or something ( meanwhile I am pro choice). I just think the uneducated / racist / selfish / only care about the 2nd amendment - those types of things are over the top bordering on ridiculous accusations. I haven't personally seen any comments like that towards the anti-trump crew (unless I missed them which is not impossible). Am I an upset snowflake over this? of course not. My point is only that I don't think it's been equal in both directions, from what I've seen.

Holy hell
There is no reasoning with you. Obviously.
You will never see anyone's point unless it's your point as well. Enjoy your day.
Mrsmick could have expressed herself in a less antagonistic way, but you're cool with the way she expressed herself. Then you wonder why there is a constant back and forth.
See, that's the funny thing. I am being antagonizing yet your friends are antogonistic 24/7 on here. It's ok if you guys do it but not ok if I say something like that which was not meant to shir sh*t but the truth in my eyes!

Ps
Where in that post did she say people w children w special needs are sheep? Or that Hillary supporters are sheep. She's saying we won't be sheep to fit in no matter how many times u call us every name in the book. I will not be a sheep.
Again. Have a nice day
It's a logical conclusion. Those that are anti Trump are sheep regardless of their reasoning. Be it special needs child, or the environment.
It's not a logical conclusion. It's a defensive conclusion Big difference. But to each their own.
I'm sure you're right. She must've meant those on her side of the fence.

No, I don't think it is an simple as that.
People now have profoundly different ideologies - there is an ideology that supports working together for the good of all men/women/children, for providing supports and assistance for those in need, for providing basic human rights and civil liberties to all, not just a select few. An ideology that believe ins foreign diplomacy. There is an ideology that supports protecting our rights and freedoms, our healthcare and education systems for all, for standing up to injustices for all and for seeing meaningful changes to our criminal justice system. There is an ideology that wants to see people succeed through livable wages, fair employment, and fair economic policies and taxation that will allow the government to work for the people of America.
Then there is an ideology that supports weakening the government, deregulating the laws that were put into place to protect citizens from governmental and corporate abuses. An ideology that wants to spread Christianity throughout our government, take away womens rights and same sex marriage, to do harm to our freedoms and liberties. There is an ideology that stands to profit by dismantling healthcare and education, that wants to tax the lower income brackets more and place the burden of the economy on their shoulders. There is an ideology that does not believe in livable wages or fair economic practices for all. There is an ideology that seeks to strip away whatever transparency we have in government and privatize it, take away the checks and balances we have, work behind closed doors to take advantage of the American people for their own personal gains. There is an ideology that wants nothing to do with actually helping people.
And for those reasons and a million more - that is why politics has become so volatile. We're not just talking about my pick versus your pick. We're talking about the lives of each and every American. And what those lives are worth to you, why you should or shouldn't care about others, why you should or shouldn't work to make this place better for everyone not just yourself. There is always going to be corruption and shady dealings in politics but when do you say enough is enough? Why is everyone so willing to become collateral damage for someone like Trump? No one wants to ask themselves the really hard questions about why they voted for Trump, or what it would mean to our country. The only sheep like mentality I have seen comes from the Trump supporters who have no clue what it means to care or have empathy or compassion - it's me me me me me me me. We're not going to go far with that attitude. We've sold ourselves out to the biggest con man there ever was.
Kitten? Is that you?
Welcome Back
I have no clue what your referring to.

I think you are making too many assumptions. I don't believe every person who voted for Trump or is a Republican can be put into your "second ideology."
I identify more as a Republican when it comes to economic and diplomatic issues and a as Democrat when it comes to social issues. HOWEVER, I feel like government should keep out of our personal lives.
I think this election came down more to having to choose what is more important to them. For me, honestly, the economy right now is more important than transgender bathroom issues. I feel like if the economy was better and people felt more secure with their jobs, their earnings and their future, THEN social change can be worked on. I don't look to the government to be moral compass.
You may not agree with me, and that's fine. I understand that there are plenty of people whose main concern is gay rights or subsidized healthcare. I won't bash you and would never negate your choices, but it's not what is most important to ME.
You take care of you and your family and I will take care of myself and mine and do what I think is best for them.
The failure here for me was the two-party system and the fact that we don't have a fiscally conservative, socially liberal party. It's all conservative or all liberal.....no in between for me.

I didn't vote for him but agree with some of your points. Especially the need for a fiscally conservative/socially liberal party. I think many people actually fall into that category. I, too, would like a strong economy (I just don't happen to believe he's the one to get us there but that's another story), but I'd also like to see bathroom rights, women's rights, gay rights, etc. upheld. I would like to see less extremism in our govt overall.

P.S. Karen, where's the compassion here? Ppl who fear their special needs child may not have access to a quality education are sheep. See what I mean?
I am not here to call out anyone. If I was, I would have had a field day with the thread the other day. Everyone should talk respectfully to each other, bottom line. I can only be responsible for myself. Calling someone a sheep is VERY different than calling people idiots, not compassionate, morons, delusional, elitist or entitled. And I believe another poster called Trump supporters sheep in this thread and got a bunch of Likes.
And for the record, I have an autistic child and am a huge advocate for special needs children. I volunteer countless hours a week to help ensure they get fair and equal treatment, so it's hard pressed to call me not compassionate about people with disabilities.

Cool. Thanks for proving the double standard and that the respect should only go one way. Carry on.
Also, sheep and idiot are the same. So, no hypocrisy there.

Thanks for proving my point that most of the nonsense coming from the right is nothing but contradictions riddled with hypocrisy and a little mental instability mixed in!
I appreciate that you respond but like for me if I had a child with special needs and one presidential nominee was touting someone who could completely disadvantage my child's education I could never vote for that person. Just because of the possibility I would be like nope no way.

I didn't vote for him either. I also didn't vote for her. I didn't vote for him because I cannot align with him socially. I didn't vote for her because I cannot align with her fiscally.

WHEN WE STOP DISCUSSING THESE ISSUES IS WHEN THEY BECOME NORMAL. WHAT IS HAPPENING IS NOT NORMAL!!!!
Skip them, deactivate, start the 842nd post on what to tip or give at your second cousins 3rd wedding, whatever.
We can never stop shedding light on discrimination, racism, sexism, the abuse of power, the silencing of the press. We can never allow that type of mentality to normalize. I'll never keep quite.

Can the handful of anti trump posters who insist on posting over the top scare tactic posts all day just make one anti trump post and keep updating that.
I can not stand coming on here and seeing ten different threads about trumps every move and how he is destroying the country.
WE GET IT. I can't be the only one who is so over this nonsense.
Thank you!!!!!!!
I mean the man hasnt been sworn in and everyone is placing bets on how long he will last, what are you afraid of...... I understand, we all will not agree, and that is fine, but stop the name calling because it is really childish!!!!

Re: Enough already!
I guess tomorrow we can start our official complaining. Up until than we can just be childish sort of like the President Elect. He isn't President yet either but takes to Twitter to throw tantrums.

Re: Enough already!
I kinda see both sides of it. Unfortunately LIF has become very negative and mean and I rarely come on LIF anymore because it's no longer the helpful uplifting place it once was. People have vastly different ideologies that they are very passionate about and there is rarely a reasonable and constructive discussion (from both sides). It's like all or nothing with people.
I don't believe in censoring anything and people should post what they want of course. But I hadn't been on here in awhile and I go to the boards one day and all I see from anti-Trumpers is "you are a disgusting person" (in several different forms) and "your privilege is showing" (the general fallback) and "Trump is obese" (that one was a doozy) etc. and I'm just like why bother. So yeah, the answer is to not read the threads and since those are the only threads on here lately, I just don't come on.
I agree with the poster above that the 2 party system is a huge problem. I honestly don't think anyone who supports Trump thinks that he is the greatest, most perfect candidate but neither was HRC. The fact of the matter is that those were pretty much the only options presented to us and unfortunately the Democrats picked probably the only person in America who people hate so much, that they turned to Trump!

Enough already!
Oh Im pretty sure if Hillary won it wouldnt be that different from the other side...killary, emails blah blah. And Im sure Trump would be at the very forefront leading all of it. People are upset. They are venting. Its normal. Just as it would be if reversed seriously come on.

If the search feature actually worked on this site, I'd love to go back 4 years and 8 years to see if there were similar posts constantly venting negatively about Obama.

Yep.
I have been here since the site's inception. There has always been political debates- discussions about race, class, etc. There used to be a staggering amount of teacher bashing too IMO. Judgy parenting posts too. This site has never, ever been sunshine and rainbows, there has never been 'good old days.' And that's ok because it's just a message board. You can't go anywhere on the internet anymore without seeing dissent at best and meanness at worst.

I agree. I have to say my very very favorite is the your privilege is showing !!! I'd say more than half of the posters are SAHM's, not even with babies, but with school age children. They don't work, so they have the time to post on here all day long. They live on Long Island, one of the most expensive places in the country. They all have SUV's, more than one, because you as soon as you have one kid you have to have that gas guzzling SUV!! They live in houses, and my guess would be large ones of 3 bedrooms and more than one bath. They can go to Disney at least once a year. Have these absurd parties for their children, who are also in a slew of after school sports and activities. If that isn't PRIVILEGE, I don't know what the hell is! Stop being hypocrites. Maybe people will want to post again.

100% agree. I truly wish there was a political board. I definitely have not been following FHF as I use to.

Basically the entire tone of this website has changed and it stinks. That's all I was trying to get across.
The entire tone of SOCIETY has changed and it stinks. Sorry if you don't like us discussing it. Actually, I'm not sorry. Until someone kicks us off, I'll be here sharing my opinion on it.
That said, of there was a Politics board created, I would be more than happy to post these topics on there.

Completely different type of privilege. You can be poor and still have privilege if you're white.
But at this point it's
