Enough is enough at work - they want to play war I am ready for battle
Bring on the Labor Board
I was inches away from quitting today. Where do I begin....my pay...Well I calculated what OT I should have. well to find out when I looked at my previous timecard that all the OT that I had put in was gone. All my time was adjusted. And I wasnt the only one. I know for a fact 4 other people's time was adjusted. We were all authorized for the OT and now the company said "nah" Oh they have no idea what can of worms they opened. Everyone is afraid to say something and someone that did was basically told well I need to watch on the OT that is authorized.
Then the 3:30 meeting my boss says in front of everyone (with me having no knowledge of this action) that CS which consisted of me the supervisor and 2 reps will now be me the supervisor, 2 reps and a manager. OK the company is looking for balance, please explain to me how 50% of a department is management
My boss is now no longer my boss (thank god) and he has burned me too many times.
I've given 2 1/2 years to them, busted my butt, given everything I can give and let me tell you I have not gotten any promotional raise. Heck the staff itself hasnt even gotten a review in 2 years.
So bring on Osha and the Labor Board. I am also very actively looking however since I booked my cruise through them I am going to tough it out until after my cruise because I dont want them to do anything to damage my trip.
This gal has had it!!! I am not going to sit around and be burned and tortured anymore.
on a happy note, the co-worker that is dating my former boss she put in her 2 week notice and is moving to NC

It never ceases to amaze me how slimy people and companies can be. Fight for what is rightfully yours. If they initially agreed to the overtime, then you earned it.

I have the same question but also am confused about the co-worker who gave her notice. I thought you were friends with her as well.
I do agree about the OT though, you should be compensated. As for everything else, IMO no job is worth this aggravation. It's gotten too involved and I'd definitely get out of there after your trip.

Yea this is the guy that I was friends with. I can not be friends with someone I can't trust. I can not trust him and don't respect him. So it's strictly professional and now I dont even have to deal with him. He took advantage of our friendship and of me. He couldnt even give me the professional courtesy about the change in the department. Then after the meeting ran to his office and hid. He couldnt even give me 5 minutes to go over things that were announced.
I am friends with her, but I think her moving will be good for her. I think it will help her get focussed. Plus she wont be pushing her relationship in everyone's face. (or having personal IM's between him and her that I caught today. Things like her telling him on company IM "I know how to make you feel better" then minimize the IM when someone was walking by)

Well he does sound like a coward hiding in his office instead of speaking with you. It's good that you're separating yourself from all of this nonsense, it seems like there's too much personal involvement and back stabing crap going on over there. I said it before, it's work, leave it as such and get out of there asap. At the end of the day the things that should really matter is you, your DH, family and real friends. You don't need this garbage making you nuts at night and on the weekends. Good luck

Re: Enough is enough at work - they want to play war I am ready for battle
Thanks everyone. DH is so supportive too. He just wants me to be happy.
Deb the cruise is booked through the agency and on a net rate which means no commission is earned on the booking. It's counted as a booking we did with the cruise line but they wont receive a commission on it. I worry that if I leave prior to my cruise they'll fight for a commission since it was done through them. They are slimy who knows what they'll try and do. I am just being a bit paranoid but I've seen them do a lot of scummy things.
I just cant believe how slimey and low a company can be. So it's time to move on out and up
