Ok, I used to give people the benefit of the doubt with these type of posts, but REALLY?!?
Christopher and I were in Target in Medford today, we were just about to load up the car when a lady (middle aged) came up and said to Christopher "I'm going to buy you a hat since your Mommy doesn't have enough sense to put you in one" Huh. Well. He had on a baseball cap, and I don't think it was -10 degrees out, so......I say "Oh thank you, but he likes that one"
The beyotch looks at me and says "Well, I guess buying him a TOY is more important than buying him a warm HAT"
Luckily, she walked away then. And I stress, LUCKILY

I would have informed her that the risk of overheating from wearing a hat in this weather is far more dangerous than the risk of him losing so much body heat that he'd be prone to infection

is it really that cold out today??? All of us went out without jackets. She had on a sweat suit with a hood but I didnt put the hood up...bc....to me its not COLD. WHats the deal??

So true!! Besides the NERVE...she's is misinformed! Babies suffer much more from being OVERdressed than UNDERdressed.

Another thought. People are obsessed with babies' heads. I swear. When it is cold out, they want a hat. When it is warm out, they want a hat. Some lady actually told me if I did not put a hat on G he was going to die. I am not even exaggerating. My mother was with me and she made a comment to her like she should know better. I asked her if she was a Ped. She told me no, and I told her, so S T F U then. She had the nerve to get huffy

We had the crazy lady at the mall go nuts on us about my DD not wearing a hat too. This was in Southern California in August mind you. Her sun hat was not enough apparently for warmth on an 80 degree day
I think they are a secret cult of bitter older women myself....
