estimates for a new driveway
We have gotten several estimates on redoing our driveway. A couple of the estimates seem very high. The driveway fits 2 cars side by side and then 2 behind. We want blacktop with pavers down the side. Has anyone had this done recently? Do you mind sharing how much you paid and do you have any pics?
Any mason recommendations would be great also.
Thanks!

Re: estimates for a new driveway
We did ours in 2007 but paid about $5K. I think the breakdown was 2500 for hte blacktop and 2500 for the pavers, we did paver outline and apron. I htink I have pics in my album.
We used Fasco

Re: estimates for a new driveway
We did the same thing except we expanded it to 3 car wide and paid $4000.
I think we were quoted around $2000 and then another $1000 for the pavers if we kept it the same size as you.
If you are going to do it, do it now or wait until the fall. Asphalt is not something you want to do in the summer because it will not cure properly and take a long time. As it is, you can't drive on it for 10 days. The colder the better.

Did your price include the demo and removal of the old driveway? Also, did you do the apron?
Thanks!

Re: estimates for a new driveway
I already have black top and pavers as a border. The black top is badly cracked from previous owners not taking care of it. The pavers are in good condition. Does anyone know if I would need to start over and have them remove the driveway and pavers, or if they can just go over it with a new coat to fix the cracks?

It included digging up the old driveway, adding some dirt to level it, all the gravel for the base. I didn't do the apron because it wasn't necessary. That is concrete and in good condition.
