etiquette question- shower thank you
DH has a very small family and they live oos. They did not come to my shower, but sent gifts from his grandmother, 2 aunts and a cousin. The one family member that did come pointed out the gifts and told me they were from the family, but the gifts were not labeled what was from who. I want to get my thank you's in the mail and be done with it. Would it be so wrong if I wrote something generic like "Thank you so much for your generous gift for our little girl. Sorry you couldn't be there but we hope to see you soon" as opposed to thanking them for the specific gift?

Re: etiquette question- shower thank you
i know the proper etiquette is to recognize what the gift was in the ty- but if THEY didnt label it - than what else are you supposed to write?
i think its fine to do a generic in this case.
if they want to get all upset about it - than you can come back w/ that there wasnt tags and you didnt want to insult anyone by thanking them for the wrong things.

Re: etiquette question- shower thank you
I would list all the gifts...as long as there wasn't more than 10 of them.
