Re: Europe.....
Hi Devon!!!
We looked into doing a tour, but found it better to plan it ourselves. Start with what countries you want to see, then look into how to get to each.
Ryanair is really really cheap- but you have to make sure you have very little luggage. The Euro-rail is supposed to be good for overnight trips.
When we went to Italy in Feb we took Ryanair from Ireland and then trenitalia for the different destinations. It was really nice to see the tuscanny countryside.
HTH!

Re: Europe.....
I would pick up a book like Europe by the Back door by Rick steeps, its been a long time since I have used that kind of thing, but it will help you to get a good idea of what kind of route you might want to follow. Also, if you want a tour, or independent travel. Something like that. I think that's a good place to start...

Re: Europe.....
For a country, I wold do a tour. I did a Globus tour in Italy and it was great! For a few cities like London and Paris, I think you can do them on your own. Why don't you get some catalogues sent to you from Perillo, Globus, and others and see waht sounds good.
Have fun!

Re: Europe.....
dh and i took a tour of italy this summer. i know you are thinking of a european tour but i thought i'd give my input anyway. although our tour was amazing (because we saw so much) - it was EXHAUSTING. we spent A LOT of time on the bus and we got up every day at 6AM or earlier. we definitely want to return to europe but don't think we'll ever do a tour like that again. with the convenience of trains and flights between countries i don't think it would be neccessary. and you can do day tours in cities.
anyway, that's my 2 cents!

Re: Europe.....
Don't do a tour. Europe is so easy to get around. Pick where you want to go and get a Eurorail Pass.
