European wax center

I want to get my bikini waxed for the 1st time. They just opened a European wax center by me. I have a few questions
1. Do you need an appointment
2. Whats the difference between a full bikini wax and a Brazilian bikini wax.
3. How bad does it really hurt.
4. I havent groomed in a while,, should it be long or do I groom first.
TIA

1. Do you need an appointment? Yes, I would make an appointment. I've never seen anyone walk in before. I mean it's possible that they take them

2. Whats the difference between a full bikini wax and a Brazilian bikini wax. Full bikini is more "trim" than a regular bikini....they just wax the sides and a little off the top if you want it. Brazilian is everything unless you want to leave a strip

3. How bad does it really hurt? For me, it hurt the first time, but the more you go, the better it gets. I also have a low tolerance for pain haha. And I find that if I take aspirin/ibuprofen 45 to an hour before I go, its really helpful

4. I havent groomed in a while,, should it be long or do I groom first? They say it should be a quarter inch long when you go. They wait 4 weeks between waxes, so you can gauge it that way

Re: European wax center

1. Do you need an appointment

I have never been to EWC before - I go to a woman in Centereach (DeeDee) and she allows walk-ins but you are prob better off making an appointment, especially for your first time no matter where you go!

2. Whats the difference between a full bikini wax and a Brazilian bikini wax.

I get Brazilians - it is all I have ever gotten. They take EVERYTHING from every nook and cranny. I usually tell them to leave a strip, for the look or for effect. It's strictly decorative, let's be honest.

My girl does a strip on one leg and the area between the leg and your vag, then she does the other leg, same spot. Then she does the inner parts - YES - she spreads the lips and all, and YES she puts hot wax there, not too hot. You'll be shocked to know that while the first five or six times did hurt or feel uncomfortable, I now giggle when she spreads the wax - somehow, it now tickles. I know, weird. It may just be me. Then she does the above part - so like below your belly button, above your clit -- can I say clit?? Anyway, whatever hair exists in those areas gets removed.

Then, the last part, the bum hole. Yes. Be prepared.

The legs go all the way up above your head like you are making a porn. She puts the wax in and around the bum hole. BE PREPARED.

You are going to think to yourself DEAR GOD this is going to hurt the most. And then you'll be shocked as it hurts the LEAST which makes NO sense but it's the truth. Just be prepared that the bum hole seems like the worst part and it's NOTHING.

To me, the hardest part is that SPLIT SECOND OR TWO when she rips the paper off. I mean, it's pain and then GONE as quick as it came. Someone who is fast and efficient is KEY.

My first brazilian was almost thirty minutes --- Dee Dee does it in under seven minutes and I'm back in my car like what happened?? That's important.

They do sell a cream - it's called the no scream cream and there are other variations. It numbs. Yes, it helps. Yes, it's worth the money. You might as well. I don't use it anymore as I'm used to it and it hurts a little less each time - it really does.

Some things to avoid: RIGHT BEFORE your period or RIGHT AFTER your period. It will HURT A LOT MORE. You are sensitive.

A tip: Take three aleve (or motrin, whatever works for you) about 30 minutes before you go. It helps. This I do to this day.

IMHO, there is nothing a like a Brazilian -- if you are going to go to the trouble of getting the bakini, and getting waxed, just do the friggin brazilian.

You will feel so sexy. I can't even describe how great it makes me feel afterwards. And men? Well, let's just say they love it.

3. How bad does it really hurt.

Scale of 1-10? 7

Even if it was a 10, for me, I can take it because IT IS SO QUICK. PAIN and then DONE. And remember, it's mind over matter. It is mental. Channel it out, hold your breath and bring something to squeeze in your hand like a stress ball - it draws away the tension from there into the ball. It does work, sounds silly :)

4. I havent groomed in a while,, should it be long or do I groom first.

The first time I went I was under the impression that I had to be like the missing link or a Yetti -- so I went in there looking like Chewbacca and the lady was like umm, what?? She ended up buzzing me before she could even begin the wax.

I would say half an inch of growth is totally fine.

I go once every 4-6 weeks, for my body, that is how long it takes to grow in to about that and need to be done again.

It does grow back in lighter and less as you go on. I have been getting them for two years.

1. Do you need an appointment
Yes - definitely get an appt. I'm sure there are walk ins and I've seen the sign that says "Walk-ins Welcome," but still taking a chance. You could go right in if it's slow (which it never is) or could wait a while. Why take the chance. Also, if you know someone that goes there tell them they recommended you bc they get $$ off their next wax and you should recommend too.

2. Whats the difference between a full bikini wax and a Brazilian bikini wax.
I actually do a full and it is pretty much everything, but the butt... I do Brazilians sometimes too, but every other time. For a full bikini she'll ask if I want to leave any I don't. They will take it all off, but the hair in your butt.

3. How bad does it really hurt.
Yikes! It hurts, but I also shave inbetween so that's why. If I always went it wouldn't be as bad. Just not enough time or want to spend the money. Always go before vacations and the summer. In the winter I take care of it myself unless we're going away.
Like PP said... take advil before.

4. I havent groomed in a while,, should it be long or do I groom first.
About 4 weeks of not shaving. I've gone in there pretty bad and sometimes the longer the better. Not that I like the nonshaving... It stinks, but I usually stop a few weeks before.

Re: European wax center

HA! And I have to add -

I got waxed nine months pregnant with NO pain meds at all because obviously since I was PG I couldn't take them. I wouldn't go in for a CS in front of the hot anesthesiologist and not be waxed. I would NOT DO IT. LOL.

And yes, the one time I took a hiatus and shaved in between - it was like going back to the first time!

NOT WORTH IT! LOL from then on I keep it consistent and it hurts a lot less.

Once you go Brazilian, you'll never go back.

Buy that numbing cream! Don't be a hero!

Even my big, tough man goes and gets his back waxed (LMFAO) and uses the "no scream cream" but his has an even more feminine and ridiculous name to it and it's hysterical seeing it next to his AXE body spray and Art of Shaving spiffy razors. LOL When I see the bottle next I'll have to post the name, it escapes me now.
