Re: Ever get a haircut you were less than thrilled with?
Ths has happened to me a few times - I will usually ask them to tweek it a little but if it's really bad, I'll go somewhere else to have it "fixed"

Wear headbands / pin it back until it grew in a little.

Can you ask them to fix it? If not, go somewhere you trust. I would be really upset.

Cried every morning & invested in clips to snap back that clump of hair that my hair girl thought was a bang.
Worst haircut ever.
Thank god hair grows back

Re: Ever get a haircut you were less than thrilled with?
Last year, I got a hair cut so bad, that I took off of work the next day. When I went back to school, my students said to me "Miss, what happened to your hair? I hope you didn't pay for it!"
It took almost 3 months to grow out and two haircuts to try and fix the problem!

Re: Ever get a haircut you were less than thrilled with?
That is the worst, I hate when my hair guy messes up a cut or color. At least color you can fix but a cut is a cut I would let them know what you don't like and ask them to change it (if it's just a matter of the style). However, if they just cut it too short, then take a ride to the store and get some cute clips and headbands. Also, if you have any cute hats, incorporate them into your wardrobe for a while. In a couple of weeks, it will start growing in. Don't worry too much about it. You're beautiful no matter what your hair looks like!

yikes!!! That really stinks!!! Sort of ironic that you said that in a way because I'm a teacher too and I had a dream last night that one of my students came up to me and commented on my hair!
At least now your hair is fixed!!

Re: Ever get a haircut you were less than thrilled with?
Thanks everyone!!!
I had some more time to get used to it and it's growing on me (no pun intended! )
Basically what happened was... I've been trying to grow out my hair for a VERY long time. I got it cut short before I got engaged and since then I've been growing it out (with trims every 2 months) ..... Yesterday I made a last minute decision to get it cut and had her make more of a style with side bangs.
My DH actually loves it! I was just in complete shock by those shorter pieces in the front! It bothers me now that I can't put my hair up in a ponytail without pieces hanging down. Buuuuut... in reality, it's not a BAD cut... and it is what I asked for. I just need some more time to get used to it. I think I'll like it better when those shorter pieces in the front grow to my chin. Now they're at mid cheek!
I appreciate all of the supportive responses! Hair concerns go beyond being vain ... it's VERY important!!!

Re: Ever get a haircut you were less than thrilled with?
A few yrs ago I HATED the cut and the highlights. The highlights looked like they were 6 weeks old already, she didnt get down to the root. So I called her the next day, and she fixed the highlights for me, and I went to someone else to fix the cut. Last yr, I cut all my hair off, and I was so shocked at how it looked that I just wore it up/off my face for a month. I would let your hair settle- I usually like a haircut after it settles, in a few weeks.

Re: Ever get a haircut you were less than thrilled with?
If it seems fixable, I ask them to fix it. If not, I wait until it grows in and don't go back to the place. I have never had a haircut so bad that I couldn't live with it.
I DID have a horrible perm once years ago (it was the 80s). My hair was damaged and it looked awful. I told the woman who did it that I didn't like it, and she tried to convince me that it was fine, but I wound up talking to the manager of the place, who looked horrified when he saw my hair. He cut it a bit, and gave a free ride--they really couldn't fix it much right away, he said my hair was too damaged.
