Ever have one of those years...
Where you feel like your birthday and the holidays are not too exciting? Just blah?
I am usually so excited for my birthday and Christmas. My birthday is tomorrow and I am not excited, just blah. It has been "one of those years" for us and it is hard for me to be excited about it. I have so much to be thankful for, I am happy that I have a healthy daughter, a great Dh and that I am alive and well. I am just ambivalent about my birthday and Christmas.
Does this make sense? It's not a major birthday (33) and Dh keeps asking what I want, I tell him nothing. What is the deal? Has anyone else gone through this? What i would really want is a time machine and fast forward to Jan 1, 2008. I cannot wait for 2007 to be over.

I'm going through the exact same thing as you are. Even though it's my birthday and Christmas is a few days away, I just don't care (well, the food poisoning isn't helping today). I feel very blah and bitter over things lately and I don't know how to get out of this funk.
Happy Birthday to you

Re: Ever have one of those years...
We are wishing you a Happy Birthday!!! I just turned 33 on November 4. I did not really think about it because we had just got married on September 29. So, I have been in giggly newlywed mode. I feel that we still are but I am have issues with DH SIL.

Yes. I don't feel like shopping and fighting the crowds, and I don't feel like decorating...We aren't even doing a tree because I just can't be bothered unpacking and packing all the stuff. Maybe it's a bit of seasonal affective disorder... All my friends in my office said they were feeling the same way this holiday.

Maybe that is it, seasonal affective disorder...who knows? It has been a really rough year and its not like a present is going to make things better, KWIM?
Thanks for your response.

Re: Ever have one of those years...
I'm always excited about Christmas, but not my birthday. I do not like getting older, so I have been depressed every birthday since 25.
