Ever hire a company to BBQ and serve your party?
I'm looking to hire someone (or a company) to basically grill and serve our guests for DD's birthday party? Have any of you ever done something like that?
I'm not looking for a full-out catering company because we'll supply the food, do set up and supply paper goods/dinnerware/drinkware. We're basically looking for someone or a couple of people to man the grill, do light serving and help with cleanup.
Any ideas or recommendations?
Thanks!

I went to a party where they had this... I think they used one of the fireside branches. They supplied the grill, burgers and hotdogs.. and maybe a few salads. Usually u have to get some sort of catering package but They just got the minimum and then did the rest of the cooking themselves. Check out the penny-savers and stuff too.... might have ads for this kinda thing

i Think that Valley Caterers in Franklin Square does this. I am not sure, but I think that you might have to get the food through them.

Re: Ever hire a company to BBQ and serve your party?
Last year I hosted a big backyard BBQ (for about 50 people). I didn't want to be stuck at the grill the whole time (My DH is the only guy I know that can't use a grill ).
I found a guy online that BBQ's. This is his website:
BBQ for Hire
His name is Paul. He was super affordable (I mean... like really really cheap compared to the other prices we got!) and very nice. I picked up all the food... he brought a big BBQ and did all the cooking. He was great!
ETA - He did all the clean up too!

I wish I could remember who my parents used to grill for their parties. It was the single best thing they EVER did. You can be a guest at your own party.

Try Scott's 5 Star Meats in Commack. We love them and they definitely do this.

We just did this yesterday. Hired a man through Hostess Helpers. He served, set up, cleaned and grilled everything. We did not lift a finger. He stayed 5 hours and was 175. 25 for the service.

Did you supply the food or did they?

We're doing it this year for our 4th of July party. We're using Bowties 631-561-5790, Tricia is the owner. If you call, you can say Vicki & David recommended you.

Re: Ever hire a company to BBQ and serve your party?
I just had this over Memorial Day weekend. We used V & F Meats in Centerport. We've used them to cater a few parties before. it was fantastic. They supplied the food, the grill and the paper products (even the tent). They BBQ for 3 hours and a waitress was there for 4 hours. It was so nice to not have to do anything at our party. The BBQ and waitress were great and I barely had any cleaning to do at the end of the party. I highly recommend them.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
