Just looked at his website with the screencaps of the tweets and photos. I'm horrified at those kids.

So sad and such a disgusting example of how so many kids are today (aaargh, i sound crotchety and old saying that!)
but it really is awful.
This guy tried to do the right thing by giving them a chance to redeem themselves and only one parent showed up? Chat Icon

i feel so bad for him

This is disgusting. Had I done something like this you can be sure my mother would have had me there cleaning up that house. If I was disrespectful to a teacher, even indirectly like by talking during class and she found out about it, my mom used to make me write an apology note. These kids should all be forced to get jobs and have to pay back every dime of what was destroyed.

That is disgusting. The parents are worse than the kids. He should press charges. They should be arrested and the parents should be accountable too.

Working with children I can say with certainty that children are almost always products of how they are raised, of course these kids have trash for parents. Sure teenagers make mistakes but something heinous like this? 9 times out of 10 they have parents who behave like animals themselves.

Disgusting kids. I think he should press charges against them. If I ever tried something like this I cannot even imagine what would happen to me. Scary .

Did you see this though?

"Another group of local teens, however, who didn’t attend the rager, showed up to help Holloway clean up the estimated $20,000 worth of damage."

Restores faith for the future again by reading that...

This is the epitome of the "not my kid" attitude that is SO prevalent these days. It's sickening and a pretty clear reason why those pieces of shit kids did what they did to Holloway's house. Obviously, the apples don't fall far from the tree.

I hope he presses charges for all they've got!

I would turn my kid in. He would be working there every moment he wasn't in school to repair the damage. I cannot believe they were not only violating someone's property but posting pictures of themselves online doing it. They are criminals and dumb ones at that.

Yes, it is good to know that there are some good kids out there, but 300 trespassed and destroyed property, and 50 other kids volunteered. The proportion is still unsettling.

If you read his website, there is a "community support" section and he posted email he received from people helping identifying kids tin the pictures and other offering support. There is one email from a girl who says she was at the party for 20 minutes, didn't participate in the drugs, drinking or vandalism, told her parents and was grounded for lying about where she was going before she even knew how out of control this all got.

She offered to help--she may be the one kid that showed up. This was my favorite email.
Yes, she shouldn't have gone in the fist place, but she realized her mistake and her parents really grounded her (no tv, no phone, so she didn't know what happened until she got to school) and she seems to really understand why this was wrong.

Unfortunately there are also some emails under the "Our failing grade" section where people cursed him out & blamed him for nor having a security system.

At least there seem to be more positive emails than negative ones.

Beside being a former NFL player, this man is a father of 8 and a motivational speaker, which is why he is adamant about teaching them to take responsibility.

I don't think there is anything wrong with sharing tweets--they are public, but he also had a list of full names of the students int he pictures, compiled with help from the community. I don't believe that is on there anymore, but he did turn it over to the Sheriff's office, so charges might still be filed. He says on his website that he is leaving that to the police and he is more concerned with giving the kids a chance to make better decisions.

The parents are reportedly upset that he is ruining their chances at college, but it is their own poor decisions that did that.

Being a teenager today is so frightening (and yes, I know that makes me sound like I'm 80 years old).

I feel like many kids have no understanding about how one impulsive decision CAN ruin their chances at college, or much worse.

I wonder how many of them were like that one girl, who just went initially because they weren't aware of the situation.

But it also is the parent's responsibility to ensure that the situation is rectified IMHO.

I have had a lot of parents tell me that I shouldn't feel guilty about working F/T since DS is still so young.

They said the time really starts to matter though once he hits middle school.
