Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
Sophia is almost 3 months old and definitely gets bored on occasion. I want to look into getting her either an exesaucer or jumparoo but I know nothing about either, or at about what age its safe to start them in them.
Anyone have any input?? When did you start your LO in one? Which one did you get, which brand? Thanks!

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
Never had the jamproo but had the exesaucer with both kids.
It is safe to use when the baby can hold his head pretty well. We started using it at around 5 months. My son loved it and could stay in there for 30 minutes straight. He also loved to poop when he was in it I guess it relaxed him, being in that soft fabric seat and also, with his feet dangling, having all the room underneath for the "deposit". My daughter didn't like it at all and would not stay in it for longer than 5 minutes.

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
We started using the exersaucer when DS was 4-4.5 months. He loved it.
We got the jumparoo when he was 6 months.
Honestly, while he did love the jumparoo for a while it was much shorter lived than the exersaucer.
If you must pick one, get the exersaucer. You will have a lot of use out of it. We used ours for months. The jumparoo only a couple of months and he was done.

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
I got DD the rainfrest jumperoo and she loves it. Wer started her in it 3 weeks ago but wasn't quite ready. She kept slumping. She is now 4 months and loves it and has no problem in it! I would definately recommend it.

We have the excersaucer and have been using it since DS was 4 months old. He also loves the jumparoo that they have at day care.

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
Have been using exersaucer and jumperoo since 4 months. DS loves them both, but I think the jumperoo would be hard for shorter babies to reach the floor (unless I didnt adjust the height correctly, which is possible too!), b/c ds is 29.5" and his feet just sit on the floor--any shorter and I would think he'd be hanging.

We only have a Jumperoo, the one pictured above actually. Lucy LOVES it! I believe we started using it around 4 months. Whenever she had good control of her head.

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
We have the baby einstein jumparoo and honestly I'm mad I didn't get an exersaucer instead... DD is 4 months and ready for something but she doesn't reach the ground on the lowest setting and doesn't seem to love it. I think I'm going to buy an exersaucer soon, I'm just annoyed that I didn't get that in the first place.

i have an exersaucer-DD used it occasionally-DS sometimes.. it is NOTHING compared to the jumperoo! my friend lent me her rainforest one and DS LOVES this thing! he will stay in it for a good amount of time. he gets bored in the exersaucer very fast. if she didn't loan this to me i would have definitely bought it, it's that good! so i say definitely go get a jumperoo. i started the exersaucer around 3.5 months and then got the jumper around 4 months and started that.
edited to add that one the lowest setting on the rainforest jumperoo DS had no problem touching the floor.

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
we had both.... ds loved the jumperoo but used it alot later... the excersaucer was definitely a better choice at 3 1/2 months old... he couldnt use the jumperoo untlu closer to 5 months... both were beneficial... but he also was out of the jumperoo early because the poles would cave in when he jumped... but he was a very big baby

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
I'm just about to break out our exersaucer for #2. #1 always liked it. Going to ask DH to take it out today for DD#2. She's a little over 4m.

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
We started in them at 3 months old. By that age my kids could reach the ground and we didn't have to add anything to support them in the seat(like a blanket). My oldest LOVED his jumperoo but he HATED the exersaucer. My second was the opposite!

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
DS loves his Jumparoo!! He couldn't really use it though until about 4-5 months. He couldn't reach the floor. I use to have to put something under him to rest his feet on. Once he was tall enough, he went crazy jumping in it. He is 9 months and is still loving it!

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
IMO, you willl get a longer life/use out of the Jumperoo.
While DD loved the Excersaucer, once we put her in the Jumperoo, it was bye-bye Excersaucer.
I put the Excersaucer in our basement so I would have something down there instead of shleping the Jumperoo up and down the stairs, and she refuses to go in the Excersaucer, so it's just taking up space in the basement.
(It's been 4 months since she's used it last. She's 10 months old now)

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
JUMPEROO!!!!!!!!! I put DS in at 4 months and he LOVES it! He is now almost 8 months old and has to jump at least once a day. You can tell he misses it when we don't have time to put him in it. Who ever invented this is a genius!!!!!!!
I HIGHLY recommend the fisher price laugh and learn jumperoo...it is the abc, 123 one! It has a ton of activities like the exersaucer but the benefit of the jumperoo.

I was going to say Ann can have her right foot flat and the left is still on her toes a bit in both - I think its the way she leans (but the exersaucer is a little better) - she was 23.75 inches at her last appt in the beginning of November so not sure what she is now.
Daycare sticks her blanket behind her when they put her in the one there because she's so tiny, she flops around in the seat!

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
We have both. DS liked the jumperoo when he was younger and when he got too big for it, we started using the exersaucer more. We could probably have used the exersaucer sooner, but we were too lazy to set it up
I am no help - I love them both for different reasons! The jumperoo because it bounces and the exersaucer because it has a ton of toys on it.

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
thanks for all the input!! Sophie has great neck control, so maybe well look into getting her one for xmas. Only problem is the space issue - our TINY apt can only hold but so much baby stuff! i think its time to say goodbye to her HUGE FP Zen basinette

Re: Exesaucer vs Jumparoo?
DS started using the exersaucer at 4 months. This is the Evenflo one we have:
We didn't get the jumperoo until DS was 6 months old. He absolutely loved it. The exersaucer definitely lasted longer, but I'd look into getting both.
