Explain egg retrieval to me.......
How long is the process from check in on? Did you feel terrible from the anesthesia? How much pain were you in after? Were you able to work the next day? How long after do you get your report to see how many were retrieved and mature? We are opting not to do ICSI so how long does natural fertilization take?
Sorry for the questions but I am clueless.

Here's an example of my last retrieval
Retrieval 830. Be there by 730. Sign papers, vitals, start the IV, etc. Go into retrieval pretty much on time. Anesthesia is so cool. Ha one minute you're talking next minute you're awake! Retrieval takes between 15-30 min depending on how many eggs you have. I personally was not in pain but anesthesia knocks me on my ass just really tired. I was ok to go to work the next day and I'm a teacher. I relaxed the whole day after the procedure. Got my report the next day in the afternoon. We did ICSI just because we didn't have many eggs to work with so we wanted a better guarantee. Can't give you info about natural fertilization bc we never did.

Explain egg retrieval to me.......
Everyone reacts differently from anesthesia and everyone can react differently each time they are under - sometimes I wake up laughing like crazy and sometimes I wake up all nauseas and gross. Good luck!!!!

How long is the process from check in on?
It never feels that long. I think we were there for 2-2.5 hours
Did you feel terrible from the anesthesia? First time, I felt fine. Second time, I felt sick to my stomach. Third time, they gave me meds to reduce my queasiness ahead of time - so I felt fine.
How much pain were you in after? Right after, I felt fine - just groggy from the anesthesia. I slept most of the day.
Were you able to work the next day? I did not have work the next day, but if I did I would NOT have been able to go. As a teacher, I am on my feet all day and I could barely stand up straight! Even going in on Monday after a Saturday retrieval for me was awful. If your E2 levels are ok though, you should be fine.
How long after do you get your report to see how many were retrieved and mature? They told me how many were retrieved right when I woke up from the procedure.
We are opting not to do ICSI so how long does natural fertilization take? Not sure. We had to do ICSI. They called us the next day to let us know. I would assume the same is true for natural fertilization.

Whether you do ICSI or Natural, they will call you the next day to let you know how many fertilized. Everything will be explained to you in detail when you go for the retrieval.

Explain egg retrieval to me.......
I was there for about 2 hours. I hated having the IV in my hand but I hate IVs in general. The lady says little pinch but its a big pinch. I was fine with the anesthesia. You go into the OR they say are you ready and you pass out right away and then wake up back in recovery where you started out. I worked the next day and just walked slower than normal. I spotted for a few days. I was not in too much pain just sore. We opted for ICSI. We got a fert report the next day from my RE. I didn't hear anything else until I got a transfer time.

Re: Explain egg retrieval to me.......
I've had 3 retrievals. The first two times, I took naps when I got home. The last time, I was totally fine (no nap needed). I was completely fine going to work the next day all 3 times. I had mild menstrual-type cramps after my 3rd retrieval, but Tylenol took care of that. They told me how many eggs were retreived before I left after retrieval. We got our fert report the following afternoon.
