Extended Stimulus package shot down by GOP Senate
crap, this really hurts people in need.
I know it will still be up to a re-vote, but this just delays things. I'm concerned that the poor, seniors, disabled vets and the unemployed are going to get screwed.
eta: Obama and Clinton were there for the vote but McCain wasn't. I don't know why, but it was pretty important.

IMO, that's a bad call for McCain. This is a highly publicized situation and I don't think it looks good to be missing ANY votes, let alone ones that so directly effects voters' pocketbooks. Especially for a Republican on a tax credit vote. And because McCain doesn't have as strong of an economic background as his compeditors.

Well if he was in AZ last night, I'm sure flying out on a red eye was pretty hard. Maybe it was just logistics. I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt..but I'm pretty shocked about it.
