Questions about shot to trigger ovulation
I believe it's an hcG shot, right?
Is that something the doctor's office will do for me? I'm deathly afraid of needles. Deathly. I'll likely pass out if I try to do it myself, and DH won't be home until VERY late on the day I'm supposed to get it done.
I'm scared

Re: Questions about shot to trigger ovulation
when i was on clomid they had to trigger my ovulation once with the hcg shot and yes the nurse did it. when i moved to injectibles i triggered with ovidrel which is a sub Q shot. if they want you to trigger they will definitely need to explain how to do it.

Re: Questions about shot to trigger ovulation
I actually did mine myself (or rather my Dad did it for me because my husband and I had no idea what to do) but that was because my RE office happened to be closed that day for New Year's Day. Had they been open they would have had me come in for the shot. They gave me a prescription to fill at the pharmacy for the shot and then I would have taken that over to them to be administered. Good luck, it's not so bad!!

Ok, that makes me feel better. I was wondering because my doc said something about picking up the prescription after the appointment on Thursday, which lead me to believe it will be in my hands. I'll just have to work from home that day, and beg for my RE to let me come back in so the nurse can do it for me!

Re: Questions about shot to trigger ovulation
With Ovidrel, I filled the prescription and DH gave it to me. With the regular HCG trigger, I filled the prescription myself but brought it into the RE's office and they gave it to me there. G/L!

Re: Questions about shot to trigger ovulation
during my clomid cycles, I picked up the prescription, but then was instructed to make sure I brought it with me on the day of trigger and the nurse administered it. Now, that we have moved to IVF, I'm going to have to do it myself.

Re: Questions about shot to trigger ovulation
Ovidrel is a piece of cake. I assume that is what they are giving you. The needle is tiny and goes in your belly-which sounds gross but , trust me, is the least painful place to take a subcutaneous shot. I take Lovenox 2X a day when in the TWW-you will be fine. You can totally do it!
