Extreme Couponing - LI Edition

This week's episode had some Z100 DJ. He lives on Long Island and he shopped at ShopRite.

He mentions its hard to do it in NY due to all of the limits. He got 450 dollars worth of groceries for 15 dollars.

He did cash in his bottle return coupons - I don't consider those coupons, you paid out for them in your previous trip when you bought the item.

I watched this episode too! If you watched closely you will notice:
-Bottle returns
-Using cloth bags instead of plastic ones (Shoprite give you $ for each bag)
-Catalinas were used (This is a coupon from a previous purchase)
-Baby bucks were used (Again a coupon from a previous purchase)

I think the show in general is misleading. At first you think the coupons used are all from the newspaper or printed online but the coupons often come from other places and from previous purchases.

ALSO, DH thinks that when a person is on the show, the store "pushes" things through on the computer that normally wouldn't go through or aren't legal ie using 2 coupons for the same item, buying the wrong size, buying the right brand but wrong item, etc.
