Re: Extreme Couponing!!
What does he need ALL those tooth brushes and deodorant for though? He had a TON of deodorant already at home.
It seems to me like this could be considered hoarding.

Re: Extreme Couponing!!
OMG I just watched this show!
I don't think I could ever do this.....I'm too paranoid about things expiring. I am also very into trying the "new" version of things...I couldn't hoard all that stuff b/c it would get old.

Re: Extreme Couponing!!
i didn't watch, since i don't have cable... i hope they have it online.
from the couponing that i do and from the sites i hang out on... a LOT of people donate a LOT of what they get for free.
i'm no where near what some of these stories are, and i've already made a couple of trips to our local catholic charities to donate a lot of our free stuff.
one of the craziest things that took me a while to grasp the concept of is buying things you don't want/need to be able to get a better deal in the long run. that is where the majority of donations come from.

Re: Extreme Couponing!!
The first woman had her whole garage
stacked! she she does it for the rush
of "saving" and getting a good deal. I
think its the challange these folks love.
"beating the store" is what the last guy
repeated over and over.
Its an obession. I only herd the last
guy say he is donating the 1000 boxes
of Total to charity, not the other $75k
worth of item in his garage.

Re: Extreme Couponing!!
I think this is great! I did like the woman from Philly who says that she only buys what she needs! that makes so much more sense.
In NYC, supermarkets don't double coupons so it doesn't make total sense for me to clip. I do love getting a bargain though!

I didn't even know about this show, I'll have to check it out. I am a HUGE fan of coupons. If I can save a few dollars on something I would buy anyway, I'm all about it!

Re: Extreme Couponing!!
We totally teast my Dad about this b/c he always has 'new' things in the house to 'try' b/c he 'had a coupon' ...
We have tried every new food, health care and cleaning product that has come out for the past 25 years
My parents DO have a separate 'pantry' that my husband refers to as the "Armageddon Closet" but in my Dad's defense, it's stocked w/ things like soda, canned tomatoes, pasta - that kind of stuff that you use all the time and buy when it's on sale -

Re: Extreme Couponing!!
I know he said he give away a lot of things, I wish they would have asked him more about that.
Although he does save A LOT of money...he seems like he wastes a lot too by buying 1000's of toothbrushes and deoderants. I mean...will he use that many in his lifetime???
I also wondered about items with expiration dates...like the salad dressings. I They never mentioned that at all.

basically it lists all the coupons available and you can do a search for the ones you want. Some coupons to buy are $.10 and some are $.25 depending on the items and value of the coupons. Then you pay for the shipping which takes 3 days. First class mail so it's the cost of a stamp.
