Fall AND Spring school pictures?
DD's school did pictures in the Fall. These pics were the personal ones and the ones of the class pictures.
Now, I get another note in her backpack for doing Spring pictures...?? (and for a different photo company)
Why pictures twice a year? Does the school get a kickback on what they sell? Seems excessive to me.

From my experience the school doesn't get any money. The PTA may though.
My kids have it too. I just choose not to buy a second time and only get the bare minimum package the first time (class photo, 2 5x7s, and wallets) They are such garbage now that they're digital.

Since daycare I have always bought both fall and spring.
The ones for spring are "photoshopped" and made to look nicer. They usually charge you after the pictures are taken as they do a better job and you want to buy more.

This year I was happy b/c DS missed the fall one!

OK Good. Im not the only one that was surprised by this and thinks its a bit much. We got a huge package of fall ones because it was her first year in Elem school...I am skipping Spring ones. I had just hoped DD isnt the only one that isnt getting them.

I'm the sucker that gets a package every time. She did this in daycare/preschool...and they do it now in elementary school.
She's like 4-5 teeth down, so I loved seeing the difference from October to now too

our PTA gets $2 from the photographer for every child they take a picture of in the spring, whether or not pictures are purchased.
I bought the fall package, but wasn't happy with the pics. Hoping these are better, but there's no obligation to purchase.
