Re: Fall recipes

yesterday we had sage-turkey meatballs that were delicious and roasted acorn squash with butter and maple syrup. We paired the sage turkey meatballs with some lingonberries and it was really a good pairing.

Sure what kinds of recipes are you looking for?

I made up the sage meatballs on my own yesterday but I just found this link that is similar. I would def. not advise you to use as much breadcrumbs as she does. It will make the meatballs very hard and dry. I also sometimes even omit the egg. But they look good: https://thebestthingieverateandthensome.wordpress.com/2012/11/04/turkey-sage-meatballs/
I just put the ground turkey, lots of fresh sage, ground black pepper, onion, garlic, evoo, and italian seasoned breadcrumbs (but just a little) in the oven at 400 degrees for about 15-20 minutes. The ligonberries I purchased at IKEA.

Acorn squash I roast in a pan with water, cut in half and deseeded, at 400-450 degrees for about 40 minutes and then i turn them over and add butter and maple syrup (or brown sugar) and continue cooking for about 20 more minutes. It needs a full hour to cook.

The meatballs freeze well too, just add chicken broth or vegetable broth when you reheat them to keep them moist and yummy!

I make a lot of chicken and roasted vegetables in the fall, and I have a really good lasagna recipe if you want that but it takes some work!

I will keep thinking and if I remember more, I will try to post it here.

Lasagna recipe while I remember:

http://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/lasagna-with-turkey-sausage-bolognese#recipe-ingredients

I also like butternut squash soup or butternut squash ravioli (usually buy both though and don't make them).

also pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

kale chips
or a fresh kale salad with dried cranberries and goat cheese, you can add chicken for protein.

It's not homemade, I buy it in Iavarone Chat Icon

Then I make the sauce, which is butter, pasta water, fresh sage and a dash of balsamic.

Beef stew and pot roast. I like paula deen or pioneer woman for those.

I would love a chicken pot pie but I cook gluten free for nine for dh and that's one I don't think I'd bother trying to convert.

Whole roast chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes.

Pasta with meatballs. I like barefoot Contessas

Soups! Chicken and rice in the slow cooker, cooks illustrated broccoli cheddar, potato leek.
