Fall Road trip to Bean Town
I'm thinking of going to Boston this fall. I have never been & have always wanted to take a road trip up there.
We are taking the baby who will be a year old at the time.
Does anyone know any kid friendly hotels asd well as where exactly to stay (in the city of Boston) and suggestions for things to do/see once we are there?
Thanks!

Re: Fall Road trip to Bean Town
Janie, I know someone who runs a b&b that is VERY reasonable right across the Charles River in Cambridge.
I am going up there for a weekend in July. If you fm me your dates, I can see if she will be open while you're there.
she has rooms in the main house and has a small attached cottage that I LOVE and think would be perfect for you guys. (I think for the cottage it was about $125...though it may have gone up slightly)
the Metro station is Harvard Square, so it's walking distance to a great area and very close to downtown Boston.
definitely do the whole historical tour and Fanuiel Hall. boston is a great town. you'll have a blast!!!!
I need to check out Man v. Food on the travel channel, b/c the host was recently there and had some great ideas for local favorites in Boston that I want to check out when we go. If I can find it, I'll link it to you.
you can also drive up to Gloucester and see where the fisherman shove off from, and have some great seafood. hang out at the Singing Beach.
lots to do.

Re: Fall Road trip to Bean Town
We go often and have taken DD a few times.
We always stay at the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge. www.hotelmarlowe.com
Fanuiel Hall, Science Museum, and Aquarium have been big hits. We also spend a lot of time with friends and family so we don't do as much touristy stuff.
Next visits I want to take her on the Duck Tour and to the Children's Museum.

Re: Fall Road trip to Bean Town
not exactly sure where to stay. i went to college up there, so i didn't stay in hotels. i know the prices are expensive, so my parents used to stay in framingham, which is about 15-2o minutes outside the city. i don't know if you're interested in that. you can drive into the city from there or take the T.
as for things to do, there is a childrens museum, science museum and aquarium. definitely walk around fanieul hall/quincy market, eat in the north end and take a duck tour if you can!
