False Alarm
Just wanted to let you ladies know that what I was feeling on Monday was a false alarm.
I was getting pains from my back into my belly since about 11 am and through the night. They were not getting any more severe, but they were 5 minutes apart and lasting about a minute. I was unable to sleep through them and they started to last abut 2 minutes at 3am, but still 5 minutes apart.
I called the Dr. and he said to come into his office in the morning but if it got worse or my water broke, to go to the hospital. When I went to his office I wasn't even dilated. He said that women sometimes experience this "false labor" when the baby is moving into the pelvic region, which is what happened to me. The doc said that I could feel like this for weeks until the real labor comes
So, the pain finally stopped yesterday at around 3:00 (28 hours later). The doc gave me some sleeping pills to take, which I wasn't going to, but I still couldn't get ANY sleep. So, I took one and finally got some rest.
So, thank you ladies for your help on Monday and for your kind thoughts.

Re: False Alarm
Oh well. It's probably a good thing that has a few more weeks to cook. I hope you feel better.

Re: False Alarm
Ah Steph, I'm sorry it was a false alarm
BUT as the other ladies said, it's good that your baby will be able to cook a little bit longer! I know how much you want to meet him but I'm sure he'll be here soon
I hope you are feeling better today - I can only imagine how uncomfortable you must have felt
Thinking of you !

Well atleast everything with you and the baby is ok, and that's what's most important.

Re: False Alarm
Sorry Steph I know it's disappointing, but the longer he stays in there, the more time he has to develop and be a healthy baby!!! You've only got a few more weeks - so rest up and feel better!! Stephen will be here before you know it

Re: False Alarm
Thanks everyone!
At first when the dr. told me it was false labor, I felt kind of embarassed, but you know what, I'm glad I went and made sure everything was OK.
