False Alarm

Just wanted to let you ladies know that what I was feeling on Monday was a false alarm. Chat Icon

I was getting pains from my back into my belly since about 11 am and through the night. They were not getting any more severe, but they were 5 minutes apart and lasting about a minute. I was unable to sleep through them and they started to last abut 2 minutes at 3am, but still 5 minutes apart.

I called the Dr. and he said to come into his office in the morning but if it got worse or my water broke, to go to the hospital. When I went to his office I wasn't even dilated. Chat Icon He said that women sometimes experience this "false labor" when the baby is moving into the pelvic region, which is what happened to me. The doc said that I could feel like this for weeks until the real labor comes Chat Icon

So, the pain finally stopped yesterday at around 3:00 (28 hours later). The doc gave me some sleeping pills to take, which I wasn't going to, but I still couldn't get ANY sleep. So, I took one and finally got some rest.

So, thank you ladies for your help on Monday and for your kind thoughts. Chat Icon

Oh well. It's probably a good thing that Chat Icon has a few more weeks to cook. I hope you feel better. Chat Icon

Re: False Alarm

Ah Steph, I'm sorry it was a false alarm Chat Icon

BUT as the other ladies said, it's good that your baby will be able to cook a little bit longer! I know how much you want to meet him but I'm sure he'll be here soon Chat Icon

I hope you are feeling better today - I can only imagine how uncomfortable you must have felt Chat Icon

Sorry Steph Chat Icon Chat Icon I know it's disappointing, but the longer he stays in there, the more time he has to develop and be a healthy baby!!! You've only got a few more weeks - so rest up and feel better!! Stephen will be here before you know itChat Icon

Re: False Alarm

Thanks everyone! Chat Icon

At first when the dr. told me it was false labor, I felt kind of embarassed, but you know what, I'm glad I went and made sure everything was OK.
