Family therapy
Not sure what board to post this on.
Please no judgment or rude comments. I will keep this short without giving too much detail but I think my daughter and I need therapy. Sadly she is only 10 years old. I’m thinking we go together. I cry typing this, but She and I have a bad relationship. She is great little girl with everyone but me and her younger brother. Yes there is jealousy. Yes there is resentment towards me. I know I have things I can work on. But I think we need to work together as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go or who to talk to? We are on the north shore, Woodbury, syosset, Huntington, commack.
I was thinking of asking her pediatrician.

I liked Carmine Angrisani in Port Jeff station for the same issue (DD was a bit younger).

Re: Family therapy
Definitely ask your ped. My daughter has had a lot of anxiety issues and her ped suggested a social worker through their practice and it has helped her tremendously. Your ped may have a resource you wouldn't find otherwise. Best of luck and I hope things get better for you both.

I would ask your ped. You’re doing a great thing by addressing the issues head on.

Family therapy
If you are in Suffolk, some of the allied pediatric offices have a satellite office with family service league. So someone from family service will come to the pediatrician to do the counseling. There are so many places, but many have long wait lists. If you can find a private therapist who is taking new patients and you can afford that would be you best bet. I commend you for handling the issues before it gets out of control.
