Farmhouse sinks
What do you love or hate about them? Any pros or cons with having white vs stainless steel?

I don't have one now but will be getting one when kitchen is done.
My SIL has a white one and even tho she loves how it looks, it's higher maintenance. A white sink itself always gets scuffs you have to buff out w soft scrub or magic eraser. But the front can and will get chipped if you bang into it - like with a big pot, cast iron, etc.
Stainless steel is lower maintenance. So I will be getting that. Even though I love the look of the white... it's just not practical for me. I'm as clumsy as they get lol

I've been looking for a copper farmhouse sink! Could you tell me where you got yours? Is it shiny copper or hammered?

Farmhouse sinks
I have a white ceramic one. Love it so much better than the 2 compartment sink. Fits EVERYTHING!! Pots pans, baking sheets. Cleans nicely too, no stains. Would never go back to regular sink.

Farmhouse sinks
I don't have one, but I don't love the way they look and, the ones I've seen at least, seemed too low for me. I'm above average height and had a back injury years ago, so I don't like low sinks.

do you find that it chips? That is my major concern from reading online reviews

Farmhouse sinks
I have the Domsjo single bowl from Ikea, which is white ceramic. We love it. No chipping so far, and I'm definitely not careful with it. Cleans great. I occasionally get little marks from pans, but a quick scrub with bar keeper's friend every once in a while takes care of those. The best part if that it feels really large without taking up a lot of space in the kitchen.
At my last house we had a stainless steel sink, and it scratched like crazy and was never really clean. I hated it.
You could also do white cast iron. My parents have one, which they love. Then you don't have to worry about chipping and it cleans really well. It's just super heavy and a little more expensive.

We are also in the process of deciding between white and stainless. I'm leaning towards white mostly because I'm afraid the front of the stainless will get scratched. I have a ss fridge and it has lots of sratches on it. Anyone have experience with it?

it's hammered. it's been 1.5 years and the patina starts to fade but it still looks beautiful

The farmhouse will be a beautiful and functional focal point. We highly recommend single bowl sinks for the main sink, and this style fits the bill! You can get an entire pan in there for washing, and you can also fill it with soapy water for soaking. You can even wash clothes if so desired. It is cozy and classic and works well in both modern and traditional kitchens. You will love it!
