Fashion Vent
A neighbor had invited us over to their house for drinks and appetizers a few months. I was running around with two sniffling kids and showed up in a hoodie and jeans. Everyone was nicely dressed. Needless to say, I was mortified.
This week, another neighbor invites us over. I show up in a sweater, skinny jeans and boots. Everyone is a big hoodie and sneakers.
I just can't win. 
OK, fashion vent over.

Better be the best dressed in the room than the worst  I always err on the side of being slightly over dressed than under.

This.
I always wear jeans and a nice top or a fun maxi dress (in the warmer months) to house parties.
It's too easy to get stuck in the mom rut, and it's really not that much more effort.

Aww, that stinks but don't worry about it. We have all been there. I once went to a shower where I was way overdressed and I felt self-conscious. I had never been to the restaurant but for some reason thought it was fancy. Almost everyone was in jeans. Oh well. :)
