Favorite Hotel in NYC
I've stayed at a few places but I'm looking for something new...for the end of this month.
What's your favorite?

Dh and I stayed at the Hudson a couple of years ago. It was a trendy place and the room was SOOOOOO tiny.

That's what I'm reading...so it's swaying me away from it.
Then again, I think most rooms in NYC are small (unless you're shelling out the for an upgrade).

I love the Essex House but I think it just got bought over and I'm not sure if they changed the name. It's on Central Park South overlooking the park. Great hotel and great location!

I can't compare it to other NYC hotels b/c I've never stayed in one. But I'd say the room was a little bit bigger than the inside cabin we stayed in on a RC cruise.

The Millennium, on W 44th. Love it, we always stay there. The rooms are pretty big, even without the upgrade, If you upgrade they are great too.

Re: Favorite Hotel in NYC
I stayed at the Paramount and my room was so small it was a joke. I literally stepped into the bed when I walked inside. Skip it!
I like 70 Park. It's a Kimpton hotel and has really pretty, generous sized rooms. The Morgan is great too - Asia de Cuba is in the hotel and you can order some of the menu items from room service.
If 70 Park isn't available, I stay at the Roger Williams. The rooms are kind of basic and the furniture is very retro but I would recommend it.

Re: Favorite Hotel in NYC
We just stayed at the Park Central located on 55th and 7th this weekend for my DH"s 35th Birthday... We got a great deal for a NYC hotel under $200. The room was typical for NYC- small but we got upgraded to the concierge floor. The room had a flat screen tv, a queen bed and chair.. For how much time we spent in it it was perfect...
We based our hotel on what we were doing for the weekend... We saw a broadway show on Friday night ( A CHorus Line) and dinner at Becco ( wasn't that great) and on Saturday We took the 1 train to Tribeca to dinner at a restaurant called Thalassa (unbelievable) and then took the 1 train back up to the Met to see an Opera The hotel was perfectly situated between the 2. I will say a lot of international peple stay there because every time we got into the elevator, they were speaking a different language.. Also, the wall were very thin..
Hope you pick a good hotel...

Re: Favorite Hotel in NYC
I love Ian Shragers' hotels (for the modern look) but my favorite is Mandarin Oriental.
Hands down the best hotel in the world!!! We had a room that was 800 sq and had its own fireplace with the most amazing view of the city...
Love it there!
