Favorite spot in your home?
Do you have a favorite spot in your home that you retreat to when you need to "get away" and relax? A spot that feels cozy and calm.
-----------------------------------------------------------
For me, it's the library. Although anyone in the family can go in there it's really become my space. I bought a cute writing desk for myself and I put the recliner I used when my kids were babies in there so I have a comfortable place to read. I love being surrounded by all of my books while cozying up by the fireplace. It's a nice place to get away from the noise and chaos of the kids, dogs and house.

My welding garage.
To me, "cozy and calm" and "relaxing" is 220volts of electricity, molten metal, and light bright enough that it could blind me.
I never claimed to be normal....

Mine is a toss up between the solarium or the pool house.

How about not being an a$$hole for once and instead having a normal conversation?

Oh please stop it. We get it! You live in a beautiful house with a library!!!! No.One.Cares.
My favorite spot is on the toilet. I can be sure that about 50% of the time no one will knock on the door and ask me for anything.

Funny as my husbands friend and my moms friends both have pool houses so not sure why that is out of the question.

LOL I do in fact have three vacation homes - two on the beach and one in the mountains. I prefer those to my main house even thou my main house is much bigger. Perhaps I should start a post - What is your favorite house that you own?

I actually love sitting outside under my small covered porch as I can sit out there almost all year long. It is cozy and I get away from the chaos of my family :)
Otherwise there is not much else space inside. My bedroom, 1 bath, 1 living space and 1 table to eat on and sit at.
We poor folks :)

Since most people have one house, that would be dumb. But plenty of people have a spot in their house that they love.
Bring your drama over to the boring COVID threads. These other threads have been started to avoid that nonsense.
Have a great afternoon, I'm not going to engage any further.

I prefer small houses actually. Easier to keep clean. In my old age I am finding I need less space and things and more experiences.

I actually want to get rid of ALL the books in my house. They are just dust collectors. But I have been a kindle addict for years. If I forget it and have to buy a hard copy book it makes me a little mad to be honest. Not to mention the trees....

That is the one thing I said to my husband. When the kids leave maybe we can get a larger home but then do I really want to clean it. Even though it might just be the 2 of us, it will still need cleaning and the utilities will be a lot more money. Money we can use elsewhere.

I actually think I prefer condo living with shared amenities. That way you have a lot of common places to use but you don't have to personally worry about keeping them clean or doing the upkeep on them. Our vacation properties are all condo/townhomes.

In the opposite and love reading an actual book. I always said I wanted a library room but thought it would be a waste because I don’t read books over and over again (only my Pride & Prejudice). I have books that have been sitting in storage for the past 8 years, so I guess your are right about dust collectors. I guess I don’t need a library.

It's just much easier. And when you are done you can just download another. Don't need to wait to go to the bookstore or library or for it to come in the mail. I still can't understand why some of my friends refuse to even try it.

Great books!
Of the classics, I actually still really love To Kill A Mockingbird and Catcher in the Rye.

I don't know if I like the idea of an attached home though. My parents had a condo which they owned and the size was PER.FECT for what I would want. The neighbors so close, closer than now which is pretty close might turn me off to that type of living.
