Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
I would love to know (and see pics if possible) of what you gave out as favors, and also what you did for Centerpieces for your DCs Christening?
Also, if you did a photo invite - can I see it please.
Thanks!

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
Think for Joel's baptism we are going to do a candy buffet for the favor... with cute little bags- I was going to make hang tags/labels for the bags and then put out a sign that said something about taking the candy as a favor- tons of cute poems about that out there.
I was also thinking about making a bunch of different cookies and having a cookie bar for dessert with a small token cake for cutting... I feel like cookies always "go" and people can take those home for dessert... or you can do chocolate covered oreos with it- and have those be the favor. Check out www.myownlabels.com for easy and quick labels that are pretty cheap... they also sell packaging.
centerpieces... I'm just a huge fan of plain old latex balloons- no mylars for some reason I hate those- it different colors- like white, light blue, dark blue, navy, etc.. for DS thinking about doing navy and kelly green.
photo invites check out shutterfly- they have a "nicer" stationary line out now... I also love tiny prints (although I don't ever really do a photo invite for the baptisms.. not b/c I don't like them, but b/c I'm too lazy).
I've also seen people do the chocolate lollipop centerpieces which are cute- although I am not a huge fan of the chocolate cross (something weird about eating a cross).. but doves could be cute.... and angels.
Also- a cute potted plant is a cute centerpiece, in a fun pot- like something cute & flowering.

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
I gave out stained glass candle holders that I had left over from what was supposed to be my wedding favor, but I couldn't get enough and so they just sat in a box in my Mom's basement for years. When I was planning the baptism, I suddenly remembered them and it was the perfect amount. At other Christenings I usually get a cross cookie or lollipop. I love the idea of giving individually wrapped cupcakes as favors, but that can get pricey.

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
invitations...i made on shutterfly they came out beautiful , it was a folded invite, on the front was a gorgeous pic of DS black and white. they were very affordable, and sort of a keepsake since DS picture was on it.
centerpieces: bunches of balloons , 2 milar and i think 4 reg, tied to a white teddy bear holding a cross
table decor ...chocolate lollipop crosses at everyones plate, i made the lollipops myself. I had ribbon printed up that said "Jakes christening" on one side, and the other, the date. (the same ribbon you would get for a wedding favor, really cheap and pretty!)
for DD's christening, on each table i had a gorgeous picture frame, in it was a picture of DD with her christening dress on, everyone's table had a different shot of her. everyone wanted to take the pics home with them. i found really cheap frames at kohls, they were pewter with rhinstones.
for the favor...everyone got a vacuum sealed coffee bag, in silver...the label said god bless Jake with the date of the christening and a nice saying (they were $1.25 each and were a big hit)
for DD's christening, i seriously cant remember what i did for a favor...how terrible right!

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
We didn't do a photo invite but we got them from Tiny Prints. But they do hav a lot of photo invites.
For centerpieces we did balloons. We did one mylar with four laytex in blue and white.
For favors we did cookie crosses and chocolate lollipop crosses by Emerald City Sweets. Unfortunately, I never got a picture of them but I will tell you that they were delicious and Christina was amazing to work with.

Where did you get the cookie crosses?
And Dina- I love the Candy Bar favor idea! I'm now gonna decide between those two I think. Where did you find the poem saying the candy bar was favor?

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
I didn't do favors, and didn't do photo invites. I got them through WeddingPaperDivas (Tiny Prints sister site) bc I wanted them to go with the color theme and I couldn't find anything else I liked.
For CP's I got metal watering cans from Michael's and decorated them with ribbon. LA Blossom did the flowers. They were supposed to be lavender roses.

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
We did photo cookie lollipops from Veronica's Treats. They have a website but I don't know it offhand. They made big sugar cookies with DD's photo and put them on lollipop sticks..I also got chocolate cross lollipops. They came with baskets for each table, and they doubled as the centerpiece and favor. They were great to deal with. It was August and I was worried about everything melting, but they packed it all with icepacks and even gave a bunch of extra cookies.

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
Donna,
We ordered the cookies from Cookies by Design. We used the one in Williston Park.
I called them and told them what I wanted and everything came out perfect. Each cookie was personalized with "Samantha's Baptism" and each was individually wrapped and then wrapped in a bunch to look like a centerpiece (and I had different sized baskets for each table, so a table of 10 had 10 cookies in their centerpiece and a table of 12 had 12 in theirs)
Everyone raved about this and the cookies are delicious!

I made everything myself, but I don't have a picture of the invite. The favors were personalized M & M's in a little tin and I did balloon centerpieces and photos on each table. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
For DS, I made cross cookies and chocolate covered oreos for favors. They were a huge hit!!!!
For centerpieces I just did balloons....nothing too fancy.
This time....I have no idea I don't have the time to make the favors again. Thinking of maybe a candy bar with pink/blue stuff but not sure.

For DS's baptism, the cps and favors were one in the same. I had chocolate lollipops from Emerald City Sweets in a nice container. They sat in the middle of the table. I didn't do a photo invite but I'll show you what it looked like.

Re: Favors/Centerpieces/Photo Invites for Christening
DD christening is this weekend. I'm doing a whole "garden" theme. For placecards I got pots with seed packets that have a "watch me grow" poem. Centerpieces are bright colored watering cans & inside are chocolate flowers.
Wanted to do something different besides chocolate crosses. Will post pictures later.
