Favors for 1st birthday at the house
No one in my family does favors for birthdays anymore. When we were all younger we got goody bags, but no one has even done that in over 15 years I think. No one is expecting anything but since LIF I totally overthink and overdecorate and overplan  Should I make goody bags with homemade cookies & candy for each family or just a little something for the kids? Bubbles, coloring books, crayons, homemade snacks. I'm INVTITING 13 kids under 13 but I doubt they will all come, probably like 6-8 kids. WDYT?

I didn't do favors - just nice goody bags for the kids (watercolors, playdoh, coloring book, crayons, chocolate lollipop, stickers, etc.) Also we had a Wonder Pets save the Farm theme, so each kid got an animal from the cake.

I debated this for a while also. The party at the house was supposed to be cheaper than at a place...meanwhile I've spent a fortune and decided to nix the favors. I have 6 kids under 13 attending and 5 babies - but I think it would be too much work to customize favors for them at this point (party is next Saturday).
When I ordered the cake, I also ordered a bunch of mini cupcakes, I am thinking about whether I should put them out during the party, give them out at the end as a makeshift favor, or just give the extras to the kids as they leave? Maybe you could do something like that so the kids leave with something, but you don't have to do the whole "favor" thing?

if you dont want to do individual favors, you can always do a pull-string pinata and then hand out baggies to all the kids to fill with the candy or whatever else you have in there.

I did edibles for the kids (caramel apples) and the adults ate them! 
we also had coloring book (that we made) crayons and some 25 cent toys from party city.

There will be 4 children at DDs 1st b-day. Im going to get some simple crafts for them to do while they are there.
3 of the children are my cousins and my aunt gives like full size toys out at their parties. I can't do that. They will get a goody bag with candy, maybe some crayons, etc.
