Fear the walking dead tonight!
I'm so excited but but prepared for it to be a let down. They haven't done much to promote it and the reviews I've read are mixed. At least it will hold me over till the real deal is back on!
Anyone else watching?

I feel like they spent a lot of time on developing the characters' family dynamic. I also find the actor that plays Nick to be very annoying. He's like a knock off young Johnny Depp.
The mom looks too much like the actress that played Andrea to me, so I keep expecting her to have her personality.
I think it will get better, but it's a very short season.
It's an interesting concept to see the initial responses to zombies and I guess they making obvious right from the start that you will turn no matter how you die.

It wasn't amazing or anything but I was interested. I know they need to invest time into the characters so I'm assuming the next few episodes will be better...hopefully!

I thought it was ok. I went in with low expectations b/c they commercials looked eh to me. But I liked the idea that I knew more. I was yelling get back in the car. And hit their heads lol. Hopefully it will get better in the few weeks but I can't wait until OCtober !!!!

this, I heard a lot of bad comments on my fb, people expect it to be just like the WD but its not I think it needs time to develop and its interesting to see how it started and how people reacted

They definitely focused more on backstory and character development this episode, but the ending makes me hope that the rest will focus more on the walkers.
The actress who plays the mom was also in Sons of Anarchy (Colette) and she was the one who Jax cheated on Tara with, so I still kind of hate her. lol

The mom is also the cop in Gone Girl.
I thought it was slow but I had no problem with it. It made things more suspenseful knowing what a sh*t storm they had in front of them - just waiting for them to realize what's going on.

She was also Joanie in Deadwood (i also had issues looking past her other characters that i didn't like).
The show was ok.. i'm expecting them to develop the characters more and i'm sure the tension will build as they show the decline of civilization more and more. That's sort of the more scary part to me. Not necessarily the gore/zombies, but how quickly our society will crumble!
oh, and it annoyed me that the daughter and her boyfriend were sooo not anywhere near high school age, so that was distracting too!

THANK YOU..I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what she was from. I thought it was a good episode, they have to do some character development to get us invested. WD had MANY slow episodes as well for this purpose.

I never realized how many shows/movies the mom has been in...she was also in the House of Cards series.
I liked it. I didn't go into it thinking I would immediately love it, but I like that we know more than they do right now. They aren't outnumbered yet and it's about to go mass chaos, looking forward to the next episode.

I did not realize it was an hour and a half! I stopped watching after an hour thinking that was it and we switched over to something else.
After now having seen the last half hour, I amend my previous statement of calling it boring. It definitely picked up a bit at the end.
I was cracking up reading a tweet someone posted about the druggie son though:
A shirtless dude in a cropped cardigan with Gavin Rossdale hair. Did the zombie apocalypse begin in 1995?

I think it's ok... my DH doesn't like it but he's also tired of TWD. I think it's interesting to see how it all started and I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season pans out.

it was ok. i feel like the whole step-family story line is a little complicated for a show like this lol. But they are annoying.
Did anyone notice how strong the zombies were? lol. the principal wrestled and flipped the big kid over. Did they get weaker over time or did they just not match up the 2 stories?
