Feedback on Winthrop Perinatal Associates?

I've heard the drs are good.

How is the wait-time?

Is the office staff competent?

I'm interested in hearing any positive or negative experience.

Also, which OB referred you to them? I'm thinking of switching practices.

I'm 16+ weeks pg w/twins.

TIA!

Re: Feedback on Winthrop Perinatal Associates?

(the one in Mineola, right?)

I saw them from about 12 weeks through 24 weeks in my last pregnancy. My OB wanted me to go there for more specialized look since my NT scan came back elevated (the nuchal thickness was higher than average).

I think I saw just about all the drs there. Dr. Jolene Muscat did my CVS testing. Dr. Timothy Rafael oversaw my early anatomy scan at 16 weeks. Dr. Wendy Kinzler oversaw my 20 week anatomy scan and Dr. Martin Chavez oversaw my fetal echocardiogram. They were all very nice, knowledgeable and re-assuring (since I'd go in with a lump in my throat thinking they'd find something wrong).

I always tried to make the first appt. I know I even had one appt at 8 am. The only appt I had a real long wait for was my CVS testing and that was in the later afternoon. Overall, there is a wait, but nothing too crazy (20 minutes can feel like forever though).

Everyone is nice, the sonographers are personable and the billing lady is great

Re: Feedback on Winthrop Perinatal Associates?

I've been there twice- and will be going back probably every 2 weeks for a while.

The first time I went, I went in EXACTLY at my appointment time. The last time I was there, there was a 45 minute wait.

Everyone there has been super nice- from sono techs to the doctors! I've seen Dr Sicuranza and Dr Muscat so far.

Dr Plancher referred me to them.

Re: Feedback on Winthrop Perinatal Associates?

I've only been to the office twice for additional monitoring & they were very busy both times but I think I waited about 15 min past my appt time, not too bad. I saw Muscat at the office. She was great & explained every little thing to me. The sono tech that did my sonos was also so friendly & nice. I recently saw Dr Sicuranza when I was sent to the hospital for early contractions & she was just as nice as Dr Muscat & explained everything to me in detail so that I knew what was going on.

Re: Feedback on Winthrop Perinatal Associates?

I was seen there for DD and for this pregnancy.

I like everyone there. The sonographer I had for my NT scan was super friendly and sweet.

The nurse that did my blood was also really nice.

The wait time is average.

I'm sent there from across the hall (Women's Contemporary Care). I see Dr. Moon.

Re: Feedback on Winthrop Perinatal Associates?

I use a different practice but had to go there for my level 2. I met with Dr. Chavez and he was really nice (although he made a wise comment about something when I asked about baby size compared to what my sister and I were). The other staff and techs were great.

We got there a few minutes early for the appointment and ended up having to wait at least 45 minutes because there were 3 emergencies that came in during that day.

Re: Feedback on Winthrop Perinatal Associates?

I went there during my twin pregnancy. The doctors were all great.. I went every 2-4 weeks my whole pregnancy and saw all the doctors. When i was admitted to the hospital I saw Dr. Kinzler at least every day, sometimes twice a day before I delivered.
I always made early appointments and wait was never bad. When I started having frequent stress tests and sonograms I went all different times and never waited too long.

I love them! I also saw them across the as a Women's contemporary care high risk patient. I had a medical issue prior to becoming pregnant and initially saw Dr Kinzler who gave us amazing advice on it and who we attribute with helping us get our miracle baby! I also saw Dr. Chavez , Dr. Raphael and Dr sicurenza! Loved them all! Jean one of the sono techs is a compasionate ,amazing person and amazing tech who was another shining star! You will be in great hands!

Re: Feedback on Winthrop Perinatal Associates?

I saw them twice for sonograms after abnormal nt results. Saw Dr. Chavez , Dr sicurenza Later I saw Dr Chavez again with my dr at the hospital before they induced me

Dr. Chavez can be a wise guy and I overheard him being rude to his staff (My pregnancy hormones almost made me walk back there from the waiting room to tell him off) but he was nice to me both time we met. and reassuring. And he really knows what he's doing which is more important than anything

Dr. Sicurenza was good too, thorough, and very serious- didn't appreciate any of my husband's stupid jokes. but I didn't either.

Sonogram techs were all GREAT

I did have to wait - I recommend making the first appointments morning and after lunch.

My OB GYN that sent me there is Dr Zandieh in Bethpage- his close monitoring saved my baby's life.

Good Luck to you and Congrats!

ETA I just now remembered being in the waiting room.... not sure if I was waiting there long or it was just pregnancy pressure but I mostly remember the bathroom now that I think of it..I must have peed at least 6 times while waiting.
