Re: Feeding ducks

I dont know where you are, but there is a park in Stony Brook on 25A, by the three village inn.

There is a park on Landing Ave in Smithtown where you can feed ducks, as well as Gibbs Pond in Nesconset.

Re: Feeding ducks

There is a pond on 25 in Middle Island, across from where the old Kmart used to be.

You can also go to South haven Park to feed the ducks.

Feel stupid for asking, since I live in Massapequa, but where? I know there is a preserve that I have biked, but I don't know where the entrance to the pond is.
TIA!

ITA. Not to mention a lot of places are trying to reduce their populations because they are a nuisance in big numbers (feces, noise, hit by cars, etc). Human food just encourages them to stick around.

I'd go to one of the animal farms if you want DC to feed animals.

Re: Feeding ducks

BEST place to feed ducks is Byron Lake in Oakdale.

I take the kids ALL the time and they love it!

ETA: I bought a 10 lb pound bag of duck and goose food from the local pet store. It was under 10.00 for the entire bag. The kids throw the food in the huge pond and get a kick out of the ducks swimming over. There is also a great playground too.
