Feeding on Demand?

when do/did your little one go from feeding on demand to more of a set schedule?

I am still EBF, Gianna is still all over the place with eating, she is 6 weeks. I know i shouldn't expect a sched for awhile right?

Re: Feeding on Demand?

My DD is 4 months and still feeding on demand...but its my own fault...I never tried to schedule her...when she wants it she gets it!!So far its working out fine during the day but the night is a diffrent story as she wakes 3/4 times to feed...its a habit now.

DS is 3 months old and is EBF. I'm still feeding on demand. He usually eats about every 3 hours during the day, but sometimes more sometimes less. Last week he started sleeping through the night so no feedings then! Chat Icon I'm not trying to schedule him. Hopefully as he gets older he'll fall into more of a schedule.

Re: Feeding on Demand?

I am EBF and DD is 3 months... for a while now she has mostly been eating around every 3 hours during the day, sometimes longer depending on naps, sometimes shorter.
So even though it's kind of scheduled at 3-4 hours, it's still on demand if she's hungry sooner, make sense? or am I rambling? :)

Re: Feeding on Demand?

My son is 10 months and not on a schedule.
BF on demand, but some times its approximately same time like morning and bedtime feeds and then he gets his solids,
usually breakfast, lunch and dinner.
but still on demand feeding, I don't feel he needs a schedule, this way we can change up plans and stuff and he eats when he is hungry

Re: Feeding on Demand?

I demand feed my little girl. She is 7 weeks and she has kind of put herself on a little schedule. She eats usually ABOUT every 4 hours during the day (sometimes 3, sometimes 5 depending on napping). Her routine is that she usually wakes up around 7:30 and then starts the routine from there. She usually takes her last bottle around 10:30 and falls asleep anywhere between 11 and 12 then goes the night without waking. I'm hoping the last feeding will get earlier and she will start sleeping longer during the night soon.
