feeding regression due to STTN?
does this sound familiar to anyone else???
DD has always been a good night sleeper, but at 10 weeks started STTN, for 8.5-10.5 hours at a time. shes now 12 weeks old.
all of a sudden though, she is giving us trouble taking bottles! she used to take 5-6oz every 4-5hrs (waking) and 1 bottle during the night/early morning.
now when she wakes, shell take MAYBE 3oz, 3 hours later fuss for a bottle, maybe take another 3oz.
this is today so far:
last bottle last night at 10pm asleep at 1220 woke up at 9am
3oz at 9:15 4oz at 12:30 (not all at once, she stopped, then took it again) 2.5-3oz at 2:30
soooo in 15hrs shes had maybe 10oz
my BIG eater doesnt like to eat anymore! she fusses when she eats, too. shes always been a bit of a pain to feed due to "reflux" but its worse now. she never used to turn down a bottle, but now ill put it in her mouth and she'll gag on push it away.
and what makes things even more confusing is in the evening shes ravenous for food, like shes trying to make up for the day. but she still wont take more than 3-4oz at a time! shell just want to eat every 2 hours
am I doing something wrong? maybe shes sleeping too long at night?
HELP

Re: feeding regression due to STTN?
This happens with DD sometimes, since she started STTN, too. Some days she just doesn't eat as much. She's never had a dry diaper any time I've checked, though, so I'm pretty sure she's getting enough. She certainly doesn't look like she's starving.
I just feed on demand, and figure if she doesn't eat much one day, she'll make up for it the next. She definitely eats more often now, though, since she goes a long stretch at night.

Re: feeding regression due to STTN?
She may be changing her schedule. At this age, DD began going longer between bottles, taking more per bottle and STTN. Essentially, she was self- compensating for the lack of the bottle in the middle of the night. So her schedule became:
7am 11am 3pm 7pm 10pm Eash bottle was 5-6 oz and she would sleep from 10pm-7am. HTH
