feel like a bad mom - DD took a huge fall

last night we were sitting around, and i had my DD (15 months) in my arms, she was standing, goofing around,
all of a sudden she just slipped out of my arms, literally it felt like soap slipping out of your hands and you cant catch it.
she did like a flip in the air and, i dont even know what she landed it,, for me it looked like her head. she cried hysterically for about 30 seconds.
then she was fine.
but im just worried if shes ok.
shes her normal self.
these things happen right?

Yup these things happen. My DS is 5.5 months old. He was sitting up next to me on the floor. All of a sudden he did a huge face plant into one of my DD's toys. He scraped his face. So you are not alone! Chat Icon

I cannot tell you the number of accidents we have had with DS and DD with falling down, hitting their heads, etc. At one point I was afraid to go to the doctor because I thought they would suspect us of something! It happens. Both my kids were fine and are fine, but, if you are worried and/or if your DC is acting differently (crying, nauseous, too tired, etc.) then definitely see the pediatrician just for peace of mind.

These things definitely happen. All that matters is that she's ok. Don't beat yourself up about it. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Since DS has become mobile he has hit his head a few times. It happens and it doesn't make us bad parents. My mom always says," It is not the first bump, or the last bump!" I actually called the pediatrician once when he was trying to stand and lost his balance, he had the biggest egg on his head. She said not to worry as long as he didn't show signs of a concussion such as sleepiness or vomiting.
