Feeling depressed
I know that SO many of you have been going through this process way longer than I have, but after receiving the PCOS diagnosis, I am just a mess. I know it's one of the "easier" fertility issues to address, but I can't help but want to cry - all the time. I never thought having a baby would be a problem - VERY naive of me. I am at work today and just want to go home and cry and sleep. The thought of going to RE in a few weeks and beginning this whole journey is so upsetting. How do you all cope?

Re: Feeling depressed
I have PCOS as well and have been seeing RE since end of October. How do I cope? I talk. I talk to anyone who will listen. When I see a baby I dont get upset I think of what a blessing it is and KNOW that one day soon DH and I will have one too...ok...today is a good day for me so I'm ooozing positivity. You just have to keep telling yourself that you WILL have a baby. Keep that chin up and dont worry about crying...that helps too

Re: Feeling depressed
At first I was very depressed when my ob/gyn referred me to an RE but once you get going with your RE you start to feel better. Yes it's stressful and at times a little disappointing BUT with knowledge and doctors who are there to help you you begin to relax. I feel like that I am at least being proactive about TTC as opposed to just hoping and waiting. I feel more in control and more hopeful that I have a plan and a doctor and staff who knows what they are doing.
I've been depressed a lot along the way (I've been seeing my RE since Sept.) BUT hang in there because your time will come. After months of Metformin and monitoring and no mature follicles and everything always quiet with me I went for my last sono b4 my first round of Clomid and wouldn't ya know it..........I had a mature 20 mm. follie and was ready to ovulate on my own. I had my IUI today and now I'm just waiting. So you never know when your time will come. Just hang in there, try and stay positive, and know that you always have people here on LIFamilies who will get you through. We're all in the same boat so we know how you feel.
Lots of luck to you!!!!!

Re: Feeling depressed
Thank you sooo much for your replies. Guess I need to realize I will have good and bad days. Today just happens to be one of those bad days. It's horrible walking around work with a smile on my face still getting the "when are you guys going to have a baby?" Why don't people know to keep their mouths shut? I just want to go home and curl up in bed and cry...

Re: Feeling depressed
I use to HATE when people asked me that but then I realized I need to relax a little because ultimately, most people just mean well when they ask and they wouldn't really know my troubles with TTC unless I told them so I try not to get too upset. But it is annoying sometimes so I understand!!

Re: Feeling depressed
I dont think anyone thinks that its going to be hard for them to conceive (unless they were aware of a medical issue when they were younger etc.) It certainly took me by surprise when we realized we were having problems. It's completely normal to say, why me? It's a very difficult thing to deal with, and I think you just need to take it one day at a time.

Re: Feeling depressed
What your feeling is normal. With anything, bad news is depressing, dont expect to just accept it. Allow yourself to feel sad, it will get easier!
