feeling down **UPDATE**

Today I'm about a month along and woke up to the sight of blood Chat Icon I called my doctor and they just had me come in for a blood test. I have to go back on Wednesday for a follow-up. They said my numbers were really low, but that they'll know more when they get my next blood test to see if it goes up or down. I wish they would have just done an examination, but oh well.

It's definitely feeling like my period though. I have PMS cramps and even tho it's not crazy heavy bleeding, it's certainly more than just spotting. And recently it turned into clots. So I'm pretty sure this won't be good news.

I was told to go on bedrest for 48 hours.

I just feel very sad right now with all of this and very confused. I keep blaming myself wondering what I could have done wrong, even though I know that I shouldn't blame myself. We were just soooo happy about this pregnancy, it's like a stab to the heart.

Any advice would certainly be welcome Chat Icon

Thank you for your kind words. I just feel very lost right now. Thank God for DH who has been so wonderful throughout this entire awful day. I never would have seen this coming tho - i felt absolutely FINE until this morning.

As for your experience - could you give me some insight as to what I can maybe expect? How far along were you, and how long did it take to pass?

Re: feeling down

You really can't know until you see the second set of numbers.

I don't have any advice, but I can at least share my story.--

I had a m/c last May. I was probably around 6-1/2 wks when I started bleeding. It started with brown spotting on a Thursday and progressed to pink spotting to passing red clots. I called my Dr's offc that Monday, came in for a sono and all they saw was a sack. (I really was just about 7 wks then so they should have seen the heart beat.)

They then tested my beta-HCG that night and 24 hours later. The numbers were dropping.

Since I was already bleeding, my Dr. did not recommend a D & C. She said to let nature take it's course at that point.

I stopped bleeding on the following Monday, had a sono that Tuesday and they only saw blood and debree.

They followed my beta-HCG back down to 0. I got there about the end of June.

I am sorry you are going through this Chat Icon It was Mother's Day weekend when this was happening for me and I spent the whole weekend lying around and crying. So I understand how sad and stressful that it is. Especially when you don't know what's going on with your body.

And PLEASE DON'T BLAME YOURSELF! There was nothing that you should or should not have done.

From what I've read on this board, everyone's experience is different, but of course I'll tell you what happened with me. When I MC I was about 5 weeks and a couple days. Everything was going good all day, around 2 I went to the bathroom, and there was red blood. I called the doctor ((got an on call doctor)), she told me that I was miscaring, and that if I was in pain to come in, otherwise wait it out. I bled for another 4 days, and that was it. A tiny clot here and there, but nothing big. I found out I was pregnant on July 8th, this happened on July 19th, on July 30th I was back down to -2.

From what I understand we both experienced a chemical pregnancy, which means that you MC before 6 weeks. The only good thing that comes from that is the fact that once I started to bleed on the 19th that was my period. My cycle got a couple days longer the following months, but otherwise I was fine.

I also wanted to add that you NEVER did anything wrong. My feeling on it is that things happen for a reason, sometimes things s*ck, but in the end you will be even more grateful for your little one when you have them in your arms. God just wasn't finished with your baby yet Chat Icon

I agree with what the other ladies have said...you won't know for sure until you get that second number. And definitely don't blame yourself!! This is out of our control.

That being said, I will share my experience...when I m/c I was about 6.5 weeks. I had been experiencing slight spotting and cramping for a few days, which turned into red bleeding. I went to the doctor...they did bloodwork and a sono. The sono only showed a sac, and repeated bloodwork showed decreasing numbers. I bled for about a week (although only 3 days were heavy). I went back for bloodwork once a week until it was back to 0. That took about 3-3.5 weeks.

You really can't be sure of anything with getting the second set of numbers, so try and stay as positive as you can.
Has the bleeding slowed or stopped at all? Some women may experience bleeding throughout the pregnancy so don't think about the worst right now.

Re: feeling down

I am so very sorry Chat Icon I would try and just relax right now until you get the second numbers. I know how hard it is this whole thing is a waiting game. Do NOT blame yourself, i've done it and it provides no comfort whatsoever.

I mc almost a month ago now. I had been having a little spotting but didn't pay to much mind to it. Then the day after we told DH's parents I started to cramp and it went down hill from there. I've been bleeding for about 4 weeks now but i think im the exception.

If you need anything please know that everyone on this board is so kind and understanding. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm so sorry this is happening! Please don't blame yourself. You did nothing wrong and could not have prevented it. Unfortunately we can't control what our bodies do. I think all of us on this board know that feeling of being lost, confused, sad and mad. Please feel free to talk about it, through fm or on the board. My thoughts are with you Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: feeling down

ladies, I am truly touched by all of the responses I've gotten on here. You are some incredible, strong women and i have so much respect for each and every one of you. THANK YOU so much for being here for me in this time when I feel so alone. I woke up so sad this morning, suddenly remembering all that I may have lost and it quite literally feels like there is a hole in my heart that only time will heal.

The bleeding continues today. I don't feel as much cramps as i did before, but there's still clots in it. I did something stupid and took a HPT to check and it came up negative, so that was definitely painful. I'm not sure if that result is accurate enough to be the end for me, but I'm definitely feeling a strong loss of hope.

I'm hanging in there though and praying for the best. Whatever happens, me & dh will get thru it. I just want this all to end. I want to get the end results now and for this bleeding to STOP. i want to go back to normal life and start trying again as soon as it's safe to do so. This whole thing right now is just too hard.

Thank you again for being here for me. I don't know any of you - but i love you just the same Chat Icon

I'm so sorry. This is very similar to what I went through in June at about 5.5 weeks. It is such an awful feeling, but wait until you get that second number so that you know what is really going on. One thing I've learned on here is that everyone woman's body is different, so symptoms in one person may mean something different in another.
