Feeling grateful for modern medicine

I have a friend who told me she just hopes a guy will pop into my life and I can get preggo the old fashioned way.

Well 39 and eternally single, I'm feeling grateful to even be trying to have a baby.

This roller coaster ride isn't fun and there is no guaranteed prize at the end.

But this's morning I'm just thankful.

ETA.... I totally agree that my friend was being kind. I'm just glad that I can have a go at being a mom ??

I'm willing to bet your friend didn't mean it badly but ugh!! Ive had to dodge some judgmental comments myself in this process. I'm hoping you have some wonderful news to share very soon!

People say things like that to me too. They mean well and now I just smile and nod. Hopefully you'll be able to be able to tell her soon that you don't need that :)

While I know your friend meant well, I'd also feel grateful you are open-minded enough to pursue this option. So many people in this day and age are still so close minded.

I work with several single women who were starting to feel the tick-tock of their biological clock and didn't want to miss out on motherhood, so they decided to go it alone. I think it's awesome. I only feel sorry for the women of previous generations that didn't have this as an option!
