feeling "something" very low
I feel a weight or pressure very low in my abdomen. basically right above my bikini line, at the bottom of the curve of my stomach.
I assume that is the baby...just b/c of where they position the doppler detector things and the sono thingy...but I was just wondering if this is abnormally low.
I have a doc appt next week (20) I am 19 weeks now. and I just feel pressure (and what I THINK is movement on occassion)
just wondering if it's something that other people feel. there is constant pressure and occasional shooting pains (from a kick to the bladder or top of the cervix or whatever else is down there maybe)
anyway, it's a bit disconcerting...any comment/advice/commiseration is most welcomed and appreciated.

Yup.. Like a sharp pain to your cervix? I felt that all the time. My Mom would make fun of me and say, You can't feel your cervix.. but, I know what you mean. I felt it.
And the pressure.. does it feel like a tightening or rolling down there? If so, that was B&H for me. And it started that early. So don't worry. It's probably fine.

Re: feeling "something" very low
the baby movement that i feel is that low..in fact i am thinking that dh will be the only person that will be feeling this baby b/c i am just not that comfortable with anyone else putting their hand that far down...as far as pressure I have been feeling pelvic pressure since very early on(like a soreness when i get out of bed), I also feel random shooting pains here and there too..I am sure everything is fine

I feel like the baby is very low as well, and I also get the sharp "cervix" pains. I think it's normal, just the position of the baby!

I agree
I have been having some pelvic pressure and cramping and my doctor said it is normal and no cause for alarm

Re: feeling "something" very low
I remember some pains around that time too. I still feel it every now and then (I'm 26 weeks).
It could be round ligament pain (something that I learned about on LIF!). Some women feel it much stronger than others. But it's totally normal.
Here's what I found on babycenter.com:
What is round ligament pain? Round ligament pain generally refers to a brief, sharp, stabbing pain or a longer-lasting dull ache that pregnant women commonly feel in the lower abdomen or groin, starting in the second trimester.
You may feel round ligament pain as a short jabbing sensation if you suddenly change position, such as when you're getting out of bed or out of a chair or when you cough, roll over in bed, or get out of the bathtub. You may feel it as a dull ache after a particularly active day — when you've been walking a lot or doing some other physical activity.
The round ligaments surround your uterus in your pelvis. As your uterus grows during pregnancy, the ligaments stretch and thicken to accommodate and support it. These changes can occasionally cause pain on one or both sides of your abdomen.
You may feel the pain starting from deep inside your groin, moving upward and outward on either side to the top of your hips. The pain is internal, but if you were to trace it on your skin, it would follow the bikini line on a very high-cut bathing suit.

Re: feeling "something" very low
sounds totally normal to me. if the pressure feeling was WAY low (like between your legs, not around your bikini line) that is when i would worry, because that is something you don't feel until you are close to your due date.

Re: feeling "something" very low
I get like that when I have a UTI. I notice pressure and am uncomfortable as the first sign. If you notice you are peeing more then usual or never feel like you bladder is emptying ask your ob if you can come in for them to dip your urine. Otherwise just ask your ob about it next visit.
I am the queen of UTI's so my mind always jumps to that

Can be totally normal, but I would mention it to your doc at your next appointment. I had the same thing, but for me it was associated with a low-lying placenta. The pressure feeling totally went away once my placenta moved up.

I agree with Beth or round ligament as AP said. However-I would call my Dr just to be on the safe side

Re: feeling "something" very low
Yes, I had this A LOT in my last pregnancy. I was so concerned cause the pressure was so intense that I feared the baby was gonna fall out.
Sounds funny but I was very scared. I felt Liam really really low and some women will feel their babies low. It is very normal. It was helpful to me to call my OB as it was reassuring. I think the first thing they look for in this circumstance is the prescence of contractions, if not, it should be fine.
Try and call your OB for reassurance but as I said, this is a normal feeling.

Re: feeling "something" very low
I've had that too now for the last week or so - and I believe we are due around the same time (Mid October)
I also find that it happens more at night after I've been running around all day. Does it happen throughout the day?
Mention it to your doctor next week but I believe it's completely normal.

we actually got our BFP's the same day 'cept I was expecting mine
thanks everyone.
I am going to talk to her about it on Friday. I also have my level 2 on Thursday so may get some answers there as well.
just going to take it easy, and drink lots of cranberry juice, just in case...b/c I am prone to bladder infections.
thanks again!

It is normal and it will increase as your pregnancy progresses. I swear that my son loved to kick my hoo haa. It felt so weird. I remember it very clearly, even a year later.

totally normal! later on it starts to feel like he is going to fall out if you walk a lot!
i also had a bladder infection at 33 weeks or so, and the pain was sharper and more unmanagable. take it easy, but to me the infection pain was much worse than the normal pain.
