Fees for Lawyers

I have seen anywhere from $750 (per closing) - $2500 (per closing) for residential closings.
Commercial closings are WAY more.

We paid 1K for our co-op 5 years ago...our friend is doing it for our current deals and is charging a really low fee. (we are lucky to have her!)

It depends on the cost of the house and what is going to be involved with the closing (i.e. how time consuming it's going to be). My starting rate is $750 and goes up from there. Take into consideration that my primary work is NOT real estate but that's what I charge people when I do their closings. An attorney who does that work for a living would probably charge more.

We paid $650 but we are in CT. It wasn't until after the fact that the lawyer said she would have charged us more because we got two separate mortgages but she let it slide.

We paid $750 when we bought, and $1400 to sell (but it was a condo which requires more background work).

Anywhere from $900-$2000, however for a typical closing I wouldn't pay more than $1200.
