Female Question
Has anyone ever had a colposcopy done? I am just curious if I should bring someone with me... i have a low tollerance for pain and was curious

Yes, I have had several.
My personal experience is that I am VERY crampy after. I was unable to drive myself home.
BUT I know lots of girls who had them and had no pain at all.
So maybe I'm a big wuss!!

i have had this done,
i don't want to scare you but it was painful because i have a tilted uterus and they had to move the thing around while it was inside of me, and i almost passed out when they took the instrument out
but i did drive myself home afterwards and i was fine, i didn't know i should have someone with me,
if he can drive you home then let him

I had it done - cramping, not severe pain. Was able to drive myself home.
Only advice, DON'T Look when it's being done.

I have had 2 and although I got crampy, I was fine to drive home.

I had one done about 4 years ago. I had a little bleeding and some cramping afterwards. It hurt a little when they took the actual tissue sample. The rest of the day I just felt like I had really bad menstrual cramps.

I had one a few years ago - I don't remember bringing anything & don't recall it being painful. Just a little uncomfortable, but nothing bad & I'm a big baby!!

I agree with this statement - as well as the big wuss one! I had one done 4 years ago, before I met DH and I brought my dad with me. But I have a low tolerance for doctors.

I had 7 or 8 of them. I was only crampy after one and drove myself home after all of them. IF you are not tolerant to cramps, have someone take you to be on the safe side.

I have had 3 done, the 3rd wasn't to bad because I ddn't need a biopsy do to there was nothing abnormal seen under that microscope. The others I had someone drive me because of the crampy feelings after. Good luck

I had it done. Felt some cramping but was able to drive myself home. I felt better by the next day.
