Fertility treatment moms that went for #2

Did you go right back to the RE or try on your own for a bit??? DH and I are ready to go for #2, but basically know we need a little assistance. Just curious what others did that knew already they had trouble conceiving on their own.

I'm curious too about this if we go for #3. We had no problems with #1, then I had an IUI for #2. I was wondering if we have a 3rd, should I just go back to the RE instead of wasting time?

There was no way we were getting pregnant on our own. When DD was 6 months old we went back to the RE. I was pregnant by the time she turned 10 months.

We didn't do anything to prevent a pregnancy, but we also didn't try to predict ovulation etc ( I have PCOS and don't generally ovulate anyhow on my own) ...When we thought we waited long enough we went straight to the RE

So here is my story. Had fertility treatment to conceive DS #1. We were very relaxed in trying for #2 but after 2 years of trying we didn't want to wait any longer and went to the RE again. To get pregnant I had to take injectibles (the first time it was just clomid)...got pregnant with twin boys.

We both thought we were "done" having children ...apparently there were other plans for us ... we were shocked to learn that I was pregnant in January..

It's so funny that i am due on Sunday 9/19..the exact day that I had DS#1.

Honestly if I thought there was any chance we could get pregnant on our own I would not have gone back to RE and I would have waited for it to happen on our own.

Right back to the RE. My issues were anatomical and not cyclical. I have cervical stenosis and needed unmedicated IUIs to conceive. My inability to dilate to conceive was the same reason why I needed an emergency c-section. Nothing changed.

We struggled with IF and ultimately underwent IVF to conceive DS. We technically can conceive on our own, but it is unlikely. We have decided that when we are ready, we are going to try for about 6 months on our own and then go to the RE for IVF. Though, I probably will go for a consult with the RE after about 4 months so we can be ready to go at the 6 or 7 month mark.

Soooo many people told me to be careful because pregnancy could reset my hormones and I could get pg on my own (conceived DS with IVF). I secretly hoped they were right. I went of bcp and only got AF on my own the next month. I thought I could be pg... but no... just back to my old self. I lost about 75 pounds and thought that might do it... nope! Back to the RE I went (and am still seeing him). Maybe make a consult apt and see what your RE says. Good luck!!!!

We didn't even try to get pg the second time around. DD was 4 months old when I got pg with #2. We tried for over a year with DD#1.

We did nothing to "prevent" pregnancy after DS was born (took 5 IVF cycles to conceive him). Right after DS' 6 month birthday, I made an appt with RE....I am just starting my second IVF cycle w/PGS

I did IVF to get pregnant and I and the chances I will conceive #2 on my own are slim. I'm going to go straight to the RE and do a FET transfer when we decide to TTC. I don't know if this is weird or not, but my Dh and I feel very attached to the frozen embryos that we have and would like to use them. I would feel a little bad if we wound up getting pregnant on our own when we have potential babies already created.

DD is 2.5. I got pregnant 2 months after I had her but it was a chemical :( Right now we are not preventing anything and if we don't pregnant on our own by the end of the year we will go to the RE.

FWIW: Surgery was done to try to repair the initial issue but the chances of it working are 50/50.

Thanks ladies....I am thinking to at least make an appointment with the RE. I have ovulation issues, but have had 2 cycles since DD has been born, so I know that I do ovulate....eventually

But I really would like to be pregnant by the fall, so I guess if that's our plan, then maybe going to the RE might be my best option.

I am not trying to get pregant right now, but have gone off any birth control in the hopes my body may regulate itself, and maybe get onto an ovulation cycle. If not, when we are ready, I'll go back to RE

I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I just had ds but because of my age I want to try for #2 asap. I would love to try on our own but I don't want to waste any time. I'll probably try for a couple of months and if necessary go back to the RE.
