Feta question
I know feta is considered by some a no-no during pregnancy. But we're going out for my office holiday party for lunch tomorrow to a really great greek restaurant, and I their spinach pie (which of course has feta). Does it make the cheese any safer since it's cooked into the pie???
It's so hard to go to a greek restaurant and find good stuff w/o feta!!!

Re: Feta question
Hmm, guess I'll play it by ear tomorrow. It's a nice greek restaurant, so we'll see.
What's the danger from feta again? Bacteria if it's unpasteurized?

Re: Feta question
most likely the feta they used is pasturized and fine. Even most imported cheeses are pasturized. You can call the restuarant up and ask if they used feta made with pasturized milk

I was just going to write this. I just had feta cheese on a greek salad 2 nights ago. The place by me only uses pasteurized feta cheese, in which case it is fine.
