Fever after DTap vaccine
DS got his 3rd DTap vaccine this morning and I gave him motrin right after the shot and another dose at 5 pm. I just checked on him and hewas burning up so I took his temp and his temp was 101.6 rectally. I gave him another dose of motrin. DS has never gotten a fever after any of his vaccines. Is it normal to get a fever above 101 after a vaccine? I know sometimes children get more reactions with the boosters than with the initial vaccines.

My DS did get a fever over 101 once from shots - his first set of shots - DTap and HIB. We gave him tylenol and it came right down and never went up again. Hope he feels better by tom!

Jaidy has had temps in the high 102's with a couple of shots!
It usually only lasted 24 hours give or take. Hope it is quick for him
