Fever from vaccine?
Has anyone's dc gotten a fever from a vaccine a day or so later?
ds got his second pneumococcal conjugate vaccine Monday at about 4pm and woke up with a slight fever this morning of 100.4 and tonight it went up to 101.6.
He's acting kinda blah and was just wondering if it was maybe a reaction from the shot...
thanks

Re: Fever from vaccine?
I go to my ped first thing in the morning and can ask them if this is common if you want!
Hope that little cutie pie feels better soon!

Re: Fever from vaccine?
My ped tells me when certain shots could cause a fever & when to expect it. He said to give Tylenol if it's under 102 & Motrin if it's over

Yes, after his 4 month shots, DS had a slight fever the day after. Gave him some tylenol and he was fine. Hope DS feels better!

Re: Fever from vaccine?
Found this site that lists possible side effects from vaccines.. http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/vac-gen/side-effects.htm
For this vaccine it says...Up to about 1 out of 3 had a fever of over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, and up to about 1 in 50 had a higher fever (over 102.2 degrees Fahrenheit).
It is most likely from the shot.
I hope Justin feels better soon!!!

yeah this was on the hand out the doctor gave me I guess I didn't realize that it didn't have to be instant, that it could take a day or two.
I gave him tylenol hopefully by tomorrow it will be gone!
Thanks everyone
