Fever from BFing
I have been BFing for a month now but the last week, my right boobseems to always hurt and last night I had a temp of 101.1 
I took Motrin and the feverwent down and hasnt been back up that high since, its hanging around 99.7
I read in one of my books that it could be an infection. So I have been feeding DS more from that breast and it seems to be helping.
Anyone have any advice? Thanks.

Do you have the chills, feel achy with that fever?
IF so you prob have mastistis, its a plugged duct that got infected
Def call your doc it's easily treatable with antibiotics that aren't harmful to baby.
Feel better soon, and keep nursing from that breast, it helps, also if you can massage around where it hurts towards your nipple, it will help clear the blockage.

could be a clogged milk duct. do you have a hard lump? if u do you should apply a warm compress a few times a day and massage it (even though it hurts.)
i'm not sure what it is if you don't have a lump though. check out kellymom.com it's a GREAT website for bf'ing moms and if you search you prob find out what it is.

Thank you all!
I do have a lump that doesnt always go away after BFing and a white spot on the nipple that I thought was like a callous and was normal.  Sorry for TMI

i had that too. for me it was a milk blister. i tried for weeks to get it to go away but it wouldn't. it did eventually just go away on its own.

Thats exactly what it looks like. Milk does come out of that duct, I can see it when I pump.

I would def. go to the dr. If it is mastitis you need antibiotics! I had a fever two weeks after birth and pain in one side and it turned out to be mastitis - my fever also went down with the motrin. Def. call the dr.

Sounds like it might be mastitis -- check with your doctor, you probably need an antibiotic.
