Fiber One Cereal Question
I've read a lot of places that Fiber One Products have artificial sweetners in them. I just bought a box of Fiber One Honey Clusters, but nothing looks like an artificial sweetner to me. Anyone familiar with this cereal? I plan to eat this cereal every day to up my fiber intake.. so I wouldn't be eating it in moderation!!

Re: Fiber One Cereal Question
Love Fiber one- cereal and bars!
I don't think it has artificial sweetners in it but if you are looking at the ingrediants you can look for Sucralose (spenda) Aspartime (Equal) Sacharin (Sweet n Low)
The only REALLY bad one per my Dr is Sacharin.

Re: Fiber One Cereal Question
Thanks everyone The Honey Clusters has Sucralose (splenda) in it. Does this mean I can't eat it anymore? It's really so good and I'm desperate to get more fiber into my diet!

Re: Fiber One Cereal Question
I would think it is ok to eat every once in a while. Maybe not every day though. What about Kashi cereal? I eat the heart to heart Kashi cereal and it is SO good and has a lot of fiber. They also have other kinds that have a little sweetness to it. I dont believe they use any artificial sweeteners.

I guess ask your doc but mine said Splenda is fine- it's made from real sugar... I eat it all the time and I know the girls with GD were told they could eat since they can't have sugar.

Re: Fiber One Cereal Question
I also eat oatmeal with extra fiber- I think by quacker oats. It had more fiber than the fiber one products:)

My doctor said splenda in moderation was OK. I eat the Honey Clusters all the time. But I also get such severe constipation issues that I really have to or I wind up in the ER

Re: Fiber One Cereal Question
Another good cereal with lots of fiber and ALWAYS makes me regular....Kelloggs All Bran (the flakes). There is not much to it, but it's good. Sometimes I will add raisins to it.

Re: Fiber One Cereal Question
If you are worried about it try the caramel delight. It doesn't have any of those sweeteners in it and it's delicious!

Re: Fiber One Cereal Question
I eat Kashi go-lean. It is pretty bland but has a ton of protein (13g) and 10g of fiber!

I am pretty sure the oat and chocolate ones don't either. That's usually what I grab when I am on my way out the door.
