Fifth Disease ?

My aunt called tonight to say that she was just diagnosed with this. She was with Marron on Sunday so she just wanted to let me know.

Does anybody know what I should watch for to see if Marron is getting it? I don't know if it is worth taking her to the doctor since I've heard there is really nothing they can do for it.

What do you think? Should I call the doctor just in case, or should I wait to see if she actually breaks out with a rash?

I would call just in case- and see what they say...

The rash tends to look like someone slapped you in the face....

The tricky thing with fifth's disease is by the time they get a rash they are no longer contagious. She may get a fever and then a Lacy rash will appear on her arms and legs, and truck. Her cheeks may look very rosy, like she has slapped cheeks.

Ny neices had it over the summer and their isnt anything they can give for it, it just goes away on its own. It did't bother them at all. They had rosey cheecks and had the rash on their arms. I think it took about 5-7 days for it to go away.

Re: Fifth Disease ?

I am worried because my friend is pregnant and she was at the party too....So far, Hayley seems to be ok. I think I read that the incubation period is 4-14 days...I guess we should just keep an eye on them and see what happens.
