filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
Help me with ideas please!
I feel like in the mornings I keep EATING AND EATING and don't feel full! And then at night, I eat a normal amount and I'm stuffed.
This morning I've already eaten a bowl of multigrain cheerioes, a bagel with cinnamon butter (YUM), and a bowl of strawberries and cherries. It's only 10am here and I'm STILL hungry!
What are some good and filling breakfast ideas?
What about snacks?
And lunch is my LEAST favorite part of the day. I can't find anything appetizing to make at home or ideas to bring to work next week!

Re: filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
I find that if I eat a combo of a protein and a carb I feel fuller than if I eat just a veggie/fruit with a protein. So for lunch I have a turkey/veggie burger with Avocado on it with a multigrain bread and a piece of fruit and I am full enough until 2-3 hours later. Then I have a piece of cheese with celery - or celery stuffed with almond butter and raisins...

Re: filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
you might be better off adding some eggs or proteins in the breakfast mix..like eggs and toast; or even oatmeal if you can stomach it..(im not a fan)..granola bars are good & Peanut butter is good too..like toast with peanut butter..mmm....
for snacks try some baby carrots/celery sticks and veggie dip or hummus dip; i also eat a lot of fruits. i do have iced coffees / lattes a few times a week with maybe some dark chocolate or little sweet. keeps me sane..LOL

Re: filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
you definitely need some protein in there.
try throwing the cheerios into greek yougurt instead of just milk. have eggs if you can tolerate them.
it could also be that morning is your "hungry time." it's the longest we go in between meals, so you could just need some extra food in the morning to balance you out.
for lunch, I find myself eating the same few things with little variation....greek salad, grilled chicken, cold tortellini salad with spinach, or a sandwich (grilled chicken, ham, cheese etc)
occasionally I will have something else...maybe pad thai. but that may be like 2 or 3 times the whole pregnancy.
I was snacking on fruit during the afternoon up to this week, but the heartburn is OUT OF CONTROL now, so I've had to cut back.
now I am eating a bigger sandwich, but eating half at the start of lunch and then the other half an hour or so later.

Re: filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
Breakfast........I would try 2 breakfasts. Start with cereal, fruit and yogurt and then later a bagel w/egg and juice.
Snacks......fruit, granola, yogurt, meat/cheese/crackers to munch, veggies and dip
Lunch........I also hate lunch but i'm eating tuna sandwiches w/soup a lot, grilled chicken and salad, turkey/cheese/lettuce/mayo/mustard/pickles on rye w/cottage cheese, and subway.
EDITED to add the self blog eat like me has really healthy ideas and I go there a lot for inspiration...here's the link

Re: filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
Some of my favorites:
Breakfast: steel cut oatmeal (the kind that takes 30 minutes to cook) - I add raw sugar and fruit (usually a weekend thing), omlette, low fat vanilla yogurt w/ fresh fruit and walnuts, whole wheat waffles w/ fresh fruit, yogurt and sometimes walnuts
Lunch: whole wheat pasta w/ tomato sauce and mozerella, Amy's burrito (i like the one w/ cheddar cheese), grilled chicken caesar wrap, peanut butter on whole wheat bread
Snacks: lots of fruit, nuts, and then I have carb stuff like pretzels, graham crackers, granola bars, etc.

Re: filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
I definitely feel fuller in the morning when I eat eggs....I sometimes get two egg whites and slice of cheese with toast. I always start off with an apple before getting in the shower, then when I get to work have the eggs. But lately I haven't been feeling eggs and stick with toast and jelly which is O K, i usually end up eating something little by 11.
snack- almonds, some fruit like grapes/cherries are filling to me
lunch- chicken salad in a pita has defintely been my staple lately. This week I made the ckn salad with mayo, dill, green apples, s&p....and I usually have animal crackers and fruit (or wheat thins, sometimes chips! lol) by the time lunch is over I'm full!

Definitely eggs- I usually eat 2 breakfasts every day. Some kind of carb and then a protein - either eggs or yogurt. I like Trader Joes multigrain french toast with bananans on top.

Re: filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
Try putting peanut butter on your bagel instead of regular butter. I was doing this during the school year and I would stay full for hours.

Re: filling breakfasts, snacks, and LUNCH help
Hayley-I find that if I make sure to eat protein with breakfast, I am not ravenous all day. You can make an egg sandwich on an english muffin with whatever meat you prefer and whatever cheese you like. I also keep string cheese for snacks which helps keep my blood sugar level.
As for lunch, how about chicken salad or egg salad? I don't know if you are adverse to either, but if not, you can try that!

tonight for desert I had angel food cake with strawberries and whip cream
In the beginning milkshakes made with fresh fruit and vanailla ice cream would filll me up in between meals
dried fruit in between meals

granola bars- just bought 100 calorie kudos and mnm ones-yummy
yogurt with granola
I regularly make jello with fresh strawberries inside and top with whip cream
